I stayed here for one night as I was on business near by, I got a warm welcome with an explanation of all facilities. My room was spacious clean and tidy with good Tea and Coffee facilities, biscuits, hair dryer, soap shampoo, towels etc. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows available and good heating (December stay). Breakfast was...

Our trip couldn't have been any better. Just the remote getaway we needed. The owners were there to greet us with their 3 lovely golden retrievers. The room was massive, clean and very cosy. The whole place was amazing and swamped in history. We were made to feel very welcome and catered for perfectly!

Highwayman's owners recently kindly sponsored a night in their lovely b&b as a prize for the Risby Primary School fund raising ball. We were fortunate to win the draw and elected to use the prize close to my wife's birthday. On hearing about the occasion Juliet suggested we could invite a few friends for a small celebration as we live...

Last year three of our family, stayed at The Highwaymans and thoroughly enjoyed it, The attractive, building, the lovely location and surrounding scenery was stunning. So we decided to go back again this year. Instead of being in the main building we were given the Coachhouse upstairs. One room did not have a mirror, there were no towel rails, the TV...

It's funny. Sometimes things are just "right". I stayed at Highwaymans for one night on business. I just wanted a good value bed for the night and a breakfast. Some hotels can be a bit impersonal so on occasions like this I go for a B&B. My criteria for a great B&B are simple: comfy bed, decent shower, good breakfast,...

Having got lost trying to find it, I was pleased to drive towards it in the dusk down towards an isolated cluster of buildings lost in time. Leaving the car it was the most perfect serene setting with the odd country noises breaking the silence. The room was large and homely and bathroom simple and classic. The door was a...

I was recently taken on a surprise birthday weekend away to the Highwayman's by my partner and was very pleasantly surprised by a beautiful picturesque building with fabulous views. The accommodation was clean and spacious and breakfast was delicious. This turned out to be a very memorable weekend for me with a marriage proposal in the grounds of the building....

Chose this place due to a reunion of a family of golden retrievers, three of whom lived at the property, another four descended for the weekend. I apologise if this caused any of the other guests any inconvenience. An excellent location, set in its own extensive grounds, this B&B offers everything for a discerning dog owner, including the resident dogs....
