We stayed here only for one night. Getting there is a nice challenge to start with. Steep going down with lots of u turns on the wat to getting there. This area is well know for a very good change to spot Quetzal's, one of the most beautifull birds you can find on our planet IMO! the hotel itself then..... More

This is a cozy family run business with Ildi the owner taking care of clients herself. The lodge is located at the end of the gravel road coming down ( Literally ) from the main Panamerican highway, Preferably a 4X4 vehicle, although sedan is fine too. 2 nights stay in a large cozy wooden build cabin. The food is great,... More

A welcome change in temperature from the humid 30's at sea level. Beautiful valley and birdlife. Quetzal quest successful. 2 nights enough to do the highlights locally. Unfortunate to arrive in mid-refurbishment of the bar/dining area, but we felt the staff went out of their way to look after us with no detriment to our stay. The chef was fairly... More

The staff at Hotel Suria were most hospitable and very accommodating. Members of our family have special dietary needs and the hotel staff exceeded our expectations in helping us. The grounds are lovely, the mountain views are captivating. The accommodations are a bit rustic but quite comfortable and fit in the environment very well. PIn addition the hotel's birding guide,... The rooms are very rustic and not well maintained. And the rooster crowing all nite long is definitely a distraction. Grounds are nice and well kept and the staff is friendly. The on-site restaurant is outstanding, maybe the best we had on our trip. Waiters speak no English so better have an interpreter handy or be able to make out... More

We stayed two nights at the Lodge during a bird photography tour. Photographing birds right in front of our cabin was a treat, due to the attractive landscaping. The restaurant was a welcome change from mediocre meals we'd had at three prior lodges. There were a range of options on the menu. Most impressive was the effort to present meals... More

What makes this place special is the location, the nature and peaceful surroundings. The area is a great departure point for bird watchers (Quetzal tours arranged early morning from hotel with excellent guides). The hotel is clean, the gardens beautifully kept, each small cabin is well furnished with comfy beds, hot water showers etc (no TV in this hotel nor... More

This is a very rustic place with no amenities or activities. We were with a Road Scholar group and were put up in this place for two nights even though we were supposed to stay at the much nicer Savegre Hotel and Spa.. The owner's daughter was our hostess and in spite of being very sweet was unable to provide... More

The last hotel in the valley, it's located near the end of a bumpy road also called cerro muerte. I don't think it was that difficult to drive though absolutely recommended that you drive a 4x4. The rooms are good, warm water was working well and much appreciated cause temperatures drop since you're at 2600m and in the valley. There... More
