This place has the nicest staff-professional, kind and very friendly! The food was delicious, with variety to please any taste. Our bungalow had drop dead gorgeous views and was very nice and clean. The tour guides were outstanding. The lodge was very cozy and welcoming. The hummingbirds put on quite a show daily! We were blessed to see the Quetzals-what...

Just spent 2 nights at Paraiso Quetzal Lodge. Very impressed by entire visit. The rooms were lovely and cosy (we stayed in a Superior Cabin - worth the extra price). The restaurant was excellent with lots of options and well prepared food. The wildlife was fantastic - birds everywhere, including quetzals and collared trogons on the paths between cabins! Hummingbird...

Our three-night stay at Paraiso Quetzal was one of the highlights of our stay in Costa Rica. We stayed in one of the lower cabins; the design of which means that you have a whole wall full of windows, giving you a stunning view out over the forests below the lodge. Add to that the comfortable bed, the jacuzzi and...

My friend and I stayed here 3 days. The lodge is very cozy and the staff were very attentive. We also enjoyed the more personal service that you won't find at the larger lodges. The rooms were nice and comfortable but cold at night. They did give us an extra space heater which helped a lot. There were also about...

At an altitude of over 2600m, a lovely lodge nested in the dry tropical forest. It was just above 0°C early morning when we started our guided tour searching for the fabulous quetzal : after some two hours, we found some 5 or 6 of these resplendent birds and it was just breath taking ! The lodge itself offers a...

Over many years we have loved Costa Rica, but this long-postponed visit to this magic spot was icing on the cake. The cabins are rustic, the food is okay, but the setting is bucket list. We explored a trail through primeval cloud forest in the afternoon, discovering the 1000 year-old Mountain Cypress, and experiencing the world as it once was,...

If the Resplendent Quetzal is on your must-see list, the best way to see it is with a guide. They are a protected species, and you usually must enter private farmland which have been preserved as nesting sites. Farmers are paid a premium to keep natural. We were with a small group of photographers, and the guides have spotting scopes...

We arrived at the lodge after a drive from San Jose and it was the first place we stayed after a night in San Jose and it was breath taking the Veiws from the resturant and lodges are fantastic. We found it so peaceful and relaxing and the Humming birds were amazing to watch. We got up early to do...

I visited as part of a photography workshop and was pleasantly surprised by the Lodge. The cabins were cozy and very clean, the location is great and the service was great. We went on hikes around the property, which offers a variety of well kept trails, and took a tour to see quetzales (a rare bird that can only be...

We spent two nights here and wished we could have stayed longer! During our time in Costa Rica we stayed in several places and this was our favourite. It is a very welcoming and friendly family-run lodge. Everybody was so helpful and accommodating. The atmosphere was so peaceful and the views and wildlife were incredible. Our lodge was great. We...
