Stayed 2 nights at Trogon Lodge last week but would have liked a longer stay. The area and lodge are gorgeous. The food is good for breakfast, lunch and dinner with buffet service so there is something for everyone. We did the early bird hike and the 6 hr hike to Cerro de la Muerte. The Cerro de la Muerte...

Just spent 2 nights at the Trogon Lodge in San Gerardo de Dota. Excellent food, beautiful scenery/landscaping, great service, pool table (really fun) and don't miss the Lemon Daiquiris at the bar. It gets a bit chilly at night but they have gas heaters in each room which they light at 6:30PM which does a great job heating. Oddly, they...

The whole lodge is beautifully designed and very well maintained. Our bungalow (even the bathroom) was modern, comfortable and cosy with gas heater and hot-water bag for the nights (with remember to holiday at grandma) great! The restaurant offers really good food and the menus varied. We saw Quetzals (female and male) during the guided tour.

Trogon Lodge is an absolute gem in a fantastically beautiful cloud forest valley populated by the Resplendent Quetzal. The amenities, rooms, food, and grounds were superb during out stay. The highlight was the early morning Quetzal Quest tour with the amazing guide Greivin. Oh, and having a hot water bottle delivered to your room at bed time is an added...

We spent two nights here at the end of a two week holiday in Costa Rica and really wish that we could have spent more time. Our room was very cozy and comfortable with a large balcony. The bar area is welcoming with a free pool table and does a great margarita and the meals were excellent with very good...

This place is amazing, the gardens are absolutely spectacular - even in the rain! We stayed here for 2 nights and ate onsite both evenings as we no longer had a car. The menu is a set price $24 for 3 courses, the food is very good but i only generally eat 1 or 2 courses so was a little...

We found the location to be beautiful at the side of a fast flowing mountain stream. The manager was charming and helpful and the walking trails and wildlife superb. The food was good with lively and committed staff. A downside was the poor quality of the room which was very basic and would need a total refit to be in...

I stayed 2 nights at Trogon Lodge after making last minute arrangements to escape hurricane Otto further north. Cabins are basic but had all we needed - showers, heaters( you are at 9,000 feet), great porches with stunning views, lots of space and very comfortable beds. “Maybe board games and cards could be available in the front office for check-out? There isn't too much to do at night and other families hogged the one pool table available in the bar. Offer smaller meal options for lunch. This was a ton of food and expensive, although the quality was amazing and so fresh. All the staff was super nice, overall our trip was great! ”
