in need of a complete refurbishment. the stairs leading to the rooms smell of burnt fat, the floor boards creak when ever any one moves, rooms are very basic not even a chair in the room to sit on, very dated decor, although advertised as free wifi there is none, there is not even a mobile phone signal you have...

We stayed one night here and found the staff very helpful and pleasant, the room was ok, though the bed on my side was not good, sagged a bit so kept ending up halfway down the bed, so not a good night sleep. The breakfast was fine. Probably wouldn't stay again though.

Where do I start Right the advert says cosy hotel with a good selection of cask ales and fine wine NOT TRUE The room was clean but very dated As for the noise you could hear every footsteps for the creaky floor boards and sadly heard every conversation in the rooms either side (I will leave that one to your...

We have stayed at this place a few times but nothing changes. It's the same decor from when we visited over 15 years ago. It's old , tired threadbear and paper peeling off some of the walls in the bedroom. We usually stay here when there is no where else. The food and staff in the restaurant leave a lot...

I visited on a Sunday, with a friend, and I opted for the carver. My friend enquired about an alternative and was shown a menu. He chose a parmesan. I was advised to wait until my friends paramo was freshly prepared. Therefore, the timing was perfect. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. I will visit again and...

Stayed here for my birthday weekend, what a fantastic place this is. When we arrived we felt at home straight away. The girl on the reception was lovely and couldn't of helped us any more. We were taken to our room for the night and was expecting a small type. But when we opened the door it was like a...

Visited this place yesterday (21st Feb 2015.) To be totally honest, did not really give me much to write home about. Went in for the carvery. It was OK. Nothing to complain about but there again nothing special. Food was hot, but taste was pretty bland. It looked like a hotel restaurant as opposed to a purpose built restaurant. And...

A large number of us visited for our annual Christmas lunch as usual. The carvery and service were excellent and so were the deserts. I chose the mushrooms as a starter and was very surprised as I was presented with a couple of chopped mushrooms only just warm on a bed of supposed to be Stilton sauce and three tiny...
