As mentioned, Punta Barone fronts on the Tryrolean Sea with superb views of Stromboli and Panarea. As in Greece, it's pretty much all mountains and sea. The small hotel's been in Angela's family for a long time and she's the hostess with the mostess. Personal...More
Punta Barone is an oasis of beauty. It is just at the end of the pedestrian thorough fare, but is totally oriented to the sea. Eating breakfast every morning looking out over the sea was the best way to start the day. Angela was a...More

As we walked up to Punta Barone, two separate people on motorbikes stopped to see if I knew where I was going. One even googled the resort's location and then said it's 500 meters up there. Salina is that kind of place. Punta Barone rambles...More

Punta Barone: It's a small place with maybe 8 rooms. I think they all have a sea view. Ours had a door with a very small terrace but great view. Ask Angela the owner (ideally in Italian if you can). There are two large shared terraces overlooking the Tyrrhenian sea, Stromboli, and Pantelleria. And two more outside terraces.
I highly recommend Tinkité restaurant! See my review and photos on TripAdvisor. Just click on my name in my Punta Barone review and it will take you to all my reviews. Reserve ahead to make sure you can sit on the terrace with the view.
Angela at Punta Barone called to make our boat trip reservation. EUR20 each for 3 hour trip around the island so a great deal. If you want the excellent pasta lunch, that's EUR 10 each. Great deal!
Do take your swimsuits as the boat stops two or three places for swimming in the beautiful translucent water.
