Staying at Mamma Santina was part of a trip around the Aeolian Islands and Sicily. It did not disappoint; the setting, the accommodation, the food and especially the friendliness and attention of the staff all made for a very memorable stay. The view from our room towards Stromboli and Pananrea was stunning if a little hazy. We found Santa Marina...

I experienced Mamma Santina during off-season (May) and the place was very nice with extremely friendly and helpful staff. They were flexible enough to give us a good off-season price for a nice and large room. The whole hotel is nicely done and features a small pool. Located a bit on the hill above the town, it is quiet and...

This place is lovely. It's simple and authentic with stunning views to stromboli. Stay there for the day and chill out in the hammock or take a wander to the nearby village. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. Remember you are on a tiny island in the med and not in London! The Romanian staff were super friendly...

Mamma Santina Restaurant at SM Salina came highly regarded and so we sat down with high expectations. I have to report that it was nice but by no means the best meal on the island so far in our 7 day visit to this lovely part of the world.  Flavors were present, no doubt but I think offering a simpler...

We spent a number of days on Salina. Our stay at Mamma Santina was lovely. The hotel is uphill, close to the port and shops. We had a very nice room with a large terrace. Views were beautiful. Salina is a very beautiful island. Mario and his team were great, friendly and very helpful. Mario helped us to choose the...

I traveled to the beautiful island of Salina in the off-season, so was able to get a real deal on a room. Looks like prices in season are pretty steep, however. Of course, I couldn't make use of the lovely pool, but I did experience the hospitality and beauty of the island at a time when there were almost no...

Mario warmly greeted us and made us feel right at home. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable with great views. The swimming pool is the perfect setting for relaxation. The food and service was spectacular. Salina is one of the most beautiful natural islands in the Mediterranean and is a must to visit.

My second visit to this hotel and hopefully not the last. Owner and manager Mario warmly welcomed us and our stay was everything we hoped. Our spacious room had a delightful seaview terrace with hammock, a large cheery bathroom and direct access to the (very clean) swimming pool. Breakfast was adequate but only average for the price/calibre of the hotel....

Can't believe the previous review! We went out of season when they slashed their prices from around 200 to 80 euro per night for a double including a great breakfast. The rooms wrere beautifully tiled with the best bathroom we have ever seen. We had our own hammock on the terrace from where we could watch stromboli smoking away, the...

We have just spent one night in the Mamma Santina on Salina. As a treat we booked what was billed in the Rough Guide as the 'best hotel in Salina' at the price of 180euro per night. We had been offered a room for 20 euro less at a hotel by the seafront but decided that the Mamma Santina sounded...
