For those of you who are looking for something different, look no further. The Brooklyn Arts Hotel is fabulous. We arrived late at night and we were greeted by the lovely Cedar, our host for the weekend. Our room was beautiful and quirky and looked out onto the courtyard garden. The staff just couldn't do enough for us, even offering...

I have become a regular at Brooklyn Arts. I live in the countryside and make regular medical trips to Melbourne. I have tried a number of Fitzroy accommodations and have settled on this one. As an asthmatic I am dust sensitive so cleanliness is my first criteria. This hotel is always clean. The hosts are wonderfully friendly and helpful. The...

I stayed there one night and was fortunate to be given the Green Room, the only Room in the B&B with its own en-suite shower stall, toilet and sink, but also with a comfortable veranda to sit in on George Street. I thought this hotel was full of charm and taste, furnished in actual antiques and decorated with real works...

Our stay at the Brooklyn Arts Motel was one of the highlights of our girls' trip to Victoria. The house is an old two-story building on the south end of Fitzroy, with the hip streets and restaurants starting just around the corner. It is filled with the loveliest of curios, old furniture, ceiling moldings, paintings, and wall colours, so you're...

I visited this private hotel when a couple I know were staying. It was a surprise for me as I hadn't known about it. Its location near both Fitzroy and Collingwood is excellent if you plan to walk to venues in those suburbs, and in appearance it's quirky, arty, etc, as the previous reviews report. As I'm all for difference...

The Brooklyn Arts Hotel was simply fabulous. Room was generous with private bathroom, interesting artefacts all around the place to keep the mind and body nourished. Hosts were knowledgeable and eager to help. The location was central and close to everything. Would definitely recommend staying here!

After three weeks at a string of cold, unwelcoming, high turn-over hotels, the last of which was in the center of Melbourne's CBD, I was lucky enough to stay with Maggie and the ladies of Brooklyn Arts. I would have extended my stay, but the trip was for business, so time was limited. I arrived early, and was fortunate enough...

I would not stay anywhere else, I go to Melbourne anything up to 4 times a year. The owner Maggie Fookes and the staff are excellent, it has a wonderful position, I cannot recommend it highly enough, but hope there will always be a room for me .....

The Brooklyn Arts Hotel is my favourite place to stay in Melbourne - a home away from home. Just a few steps away from Gertrude Street with its wonderful boutique shops and eateries, its warm, charming and brimming with personality, from the décor to the proprietor Maggie and her lovely pooches, to the other guests at the breakfast table.
