Apart from this the resort is nice and on the whole the hotel is nice and clean with a good choice of food with mostly friendly staff.
We requested an adjoining room which was provided, rooms were basic but nice enough and larger than I’ve had at a previous all inclusive hotel. Rooms were clean and tidy with extra blankets provided if needed. The only downside of the rooms was that both patio chairs were damaged , so although still usable they weren’t the comfiest.
The food was decent and again following other bad reviews I was a bit nervous being a bit of a fussy eater. Overall the food was okay, not fantastic but there were some lovely dishes that we had, there were also a few that didn’t appeal to me as I don’t eat fish. The salad was always lovely and fresh though, with plenty of deserts for the kids. Breakfast and lunch were the best meals in my opinion.
The pool was nice and I spent the majority of my time here. There were always enough loungers available so we always managed to get 4 together if we went down after breakfast. The only annoying thing in the pool was no balls or inflatables allowed. On 2 of the days there was a different younger lifeguard who allowed ball games but the usual lifeguard didn’t…but again, other than that the pool was clean and tidy with snacks and drinks available all day.
I didn’t go to the water park but my partner and his son did and they enjoyed it, although they only went once during the week because we were happy enough around the hotel pool.
Overall it is a lovely resort with plenty to do outside the hotel, lots of shops and a supermarket close by for water and souveniers. There is also an arcade with a small bowling alley, an 18 hole mini golf that was 5euros each but you get 2 hours so can play more than once if you want too.
I’d come here again and was happy with our choice. Most staff were nice and friendly as well!
no bottled water if you want bottled water you have too buy it from a vending machine at 1.70 per small bottle.
all inclusive finishes at 11 in fact everything in this area finishes at 11 apart from shop which is 10 so if you have not thought ahead and bought drinks before this you will go thirsty all night. No entertainment at all in the hotel day or night no floats in the small pool they have got. kids were bored stiff day and night we had too get taxis into Porto Rico even eat there because food was so bad at hotel we also paid extra for a sea view which we most definitely did not have we look out too ruins of an old hotel not one room in our hotel was sea view. Staff were rude and not helpful at all air didn’t work in most rooms as we were speaking too other guests 2 people we meet there were trying too get fights home 4 day early I must admin kids did love the water park but couldn’t stay for long as it was salt water and made their eyes sore. I will attach photos. I may sound like a moaning Minnie But I have never complained about a Hoilday in the last 20 years but please be aware this was one of the most expensive Hoilday we’ve had and probably the worst 🙁
The flight from Stansted was a breeze, arrival efficient and a shorter transfer time than expected.
We arrived at Paradise Costa Taurito to a warm welcome despite the late hour, and a packed tea. (11pm)
The room was very clean, and ours was cleaned and refreshed daily. Air-conditioning we were told would work if you closed the patio door. It worked very well and we were able to sleep in a cool room, first foreign holiday I had been on where that was the case!
They had thoughtfully left us bottled water in the fridge.
Breakfast was amazing, anything you can think of they had it, cooked and continental. The chef could be seen and would cook you anything else. The children were amazed by the churros, pancakes, and chocolate donuts!
Lunch and dinner were equally varied but there was always chips, pizza, pasta and salad if you didn't want to try the range of hot dishes. My children loved the never ending watermelon and mini pastries. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.
The entertainment area, waterpark, beach and shops were one floor down in the lift or a short walk down the hill.
The other hotels including Lago Taurito were down there, but they seemed much busier than our peaceful hotel.
Our hotel pool was gorgeous, clean, and as long as you were there fairly early in the day (opened at 10) there were plenty of sunbeds. Snacks and drinks available all day.
The all-inclusive wristband meant you could skip the queue at the waterpark and just say your room number, again plenty of space if you arrived early enough. The waterpark had something for everyone, and the lifeguards were helpful and efficient.
The beach was beautiful, you could pay a small fee for sunbeds and umbrellas or pitch your own. Waves were fun and good enough for a little body boarding. You could pay for jet skiing, para sailing, pedal boats and lots more, and you got a ride on a boat to get oit to the jet ski's which was fun too!
The entertainment team worked so hard, archery, aquaaerobics and darts during the day, mini discos for the kids every evening except Monday when the animation team had a night off. There were quizzes and even a Mr Taurito competition while we were there. Good fun and you did not feel you had to join in.
The bar staff at Arena plaza also worked very hard and were friendly.
I really recommend this family resort and we had a wonderful holiday here!
The hotel was clean and well organised. The rooms were cleaned very day.
Food was good- breakfast and lunch had brilliant choices. There was loads for anyone. Dinner was also good but felt less varied.
The pool area was good and the pool bar chips and toasties are awesome.
All inc drinks are really good. Very varied.
Bar staff can occasionally seem grumpy but not a real problem.
Overall we all rated the venue really highly.
The shower in our room was a bit temperamental but the rooms were great and all three rooms were next to each other which was thoughtful. We all had so much fun!
I’d definitely go back.
Hotel clean and staff friendly. Food was excellent and we enjoyed trying the local and Spanish dishes and sauces.
WiFi works well in main areas so in the bar and restaurant and by the pool.
Pool definitely big enough and it was clean. We brought sinking toys for our son to play with. The inflatables that you can buy in the resort are great but they are massive! Perfect for the water park and beach!
The beach is down the hill but it’s not far away. 5 min walk past the shops and water park. Use the lift outside the hotel to get to the lower level area.
The sauna would have added to our stay had it been in operation! We love a sauna!
Keycards worked fine for us.
Water park is included and there are 6 nice slides. It’s fun! We tended to to half a day there and then go to the beach or pool.
Our wristbands were left on after check out which was a nice touch and we left at 6pm in the evening.
Early evening food is available from vending machines. A suggestion would be to have some savoury snacks available for guests in the bar, and self service soft drinks, to allow guests an early aperitif
We would definitely recommend for a family friendly, traditional feel hotel type holiday
Thank you
The hotel was spotlessly clean inside and out but the rooms were dated, especially the bathroom and in need of modernisation. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Fortunately I had read some of their reviews and brought a travel kettle and cups so that we could make our own hot drinks.
The hotel has a no smoking policy so you had to go to a designated area outside if you wanted to smoke/vape.
The staff were not very friendly especially in the dining area. We were not greeted or made to feel welcome. In fact the whole atmosphere seemed very hostile. The food was not good either, very little choice. Breakfast was the only decent meal. There were no restaurants around this area so unless you get a taxi and go to Puerto Rico or Mogan you are limited.
There’s a small pool to the side of the hotel with a bar/snack facility. Kids were only allowed to use arm bands and rubber rings. No inflatables were allowed in the pool.
Then there’s the water park. You can only take water in with you to drink. Everything else, food and drinks has to be purchased inside at the cafe. There’s a designated smoking area in there too.
The entertainment area was next to the water park. The only thing included in the all inclusive in that area are the drinks. Unless you have a hefty bank balance don’t go there. There’s trampolines, go carts, arcade games etc. candy floss and popcorn plus lots of other stuff that kids love. I think a wristband for the evening would be a better idea as most of the kids activities were 4/5 euros a go.
There is a small shopping area with a supermarket on the same site and even the prices here were overinflated.
We travelled with our 2 grandchildren and spent quite a bit.
The hotel staff is really nice, helpful and friendly. The rooms are nice and specious with grab rails in the bathrooms. Food was mainly nice apart from few things which were not upto our taste but obviously everyone’s taste is different. In general it’s nice family hotel but I wouldn’t say this exact location is wheelchair friendly. Also the beach is not at all for the wheelchair users as the decking on it is not all joined togather and made of wobbly wooden pallets-like components. So this is the only reason why my rate is 3 because I believe they shouldn’t advertise it as disabled friendly.
On our 1st day we had to call Jet2 because we couldn't eat in this hotel (Ian was very helpful on the phone), the food here was next to none, so we had a pass to eat at another hotel on the same resort.
In the area is not much to do, so if you want a nice night out, you need to go to Puerto Rico, Mogan, or other cities.
Rooms are very dated, with dirty floors ,wood warped, bathroom taps rusty.
Even cleaners do not clean properly, it was hair on the bathroom floor for days before anyone cleaned it.
The entertainment is also very basic.
The aqua park reopened, but for us it was way too cold, we mainly have been by the sea, and that in Puerto Rico ,Anfi or Mogan, because Taurito is way to wavy.
Overall, avoid Taurito, they're way better places to stay in the area, the cities are not far from each other, we used buses every day to get away from this resort!
So, believe the bad reviews about Costa Taurito!!!!
"Avoid this hotel, quite expensive for what it has to offer. I think you're better with the 3 star one, at least the food is better "Read full review
