I spent 5 nights at Hotel Izan as part of the VaughanTown experience. My room was pleasant, comfortable and clean with a jacuzzi bath and excellent water pressure in the shower. I was on the second floor, and unfortunately I had a skylight instead of a window, but it allowed plenty of natural light into the room. I had a...

We were there for a Vaughantown Programme and the hotel coped very well with a large group of mixed Spaniards and Anglos who more or less took over the hotel. The facilities are very good, the food simple but plentiful ( great breakfast buffet and salad bar) and the staff were pleasant and efficient. The best feature for us was...

I stayed here last week with a group of friends and loved it. It was clean, staff was friendly (They don't speak a lot of English. But we managed well) and it was quiet. It's in the middle of nowhere about 20 minutes walk into Barca De Avila which is a small town. The rooms are great! The beds/pillows are...

If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of Madrid, his hotel is located about three hours drive just beyond Avila. Spectaular views of the mountains and rivers near by. The small town of Barco de Avila is about three kilometres from the hotel. There are some very limited shops and a couple of cafes in the town, but...

Was here for one week with a Spanish group for an English language seminar. Great facilities, swimming pool and sauna . The hotel is squeaky clean. Very nice rooms good mattress. Excellent bathroom. We were fed 3 meals a day; breakfast was ok but at lunch and dinner some meals were terrible, uneatable.

We came for a 2 day visit and this was a perfect environment to relax. The main building is tastefully refurbished, the location is tranquil and the rooms ( at least in building 2) are spacious, have very good wifi connection and even in winter were warm with jacuzzi baths. Staff are friendly and this is a great base for...

I stayed on an I had a week's stay here teaching English to Spanish students, mainly professional business people, recently. The rural location is fantastic and I really enjoyed being close to nature with eagles, kites, ostriches and amazingly tame cows (or were they bulls...). The river was close by and was the perfect distance from the hotel for a...

I had an extended stay here recently. The venue is literally in the middle of nowhere and ideal for a couples retreat. The room I had in the eaves was lovely, beautifully decorated and styled but the velux window meant I couldnt leave the window open for fear of insects and on one occasion, birds (starlings) flying in. There is...

A place for one night en passant driving on. Wonderful clean air. A retreat in rural Spain. Comfy rooms. Peaceful. Breakfast good but unless eating perhaps a la carte (never saw the menu), the chef's imagination is dreadful. However the gaspatcho was good. Seafood kebab was good too but the rest!!!! Mon Dieu!

For a hotel in the middle of nowhere, they've done a great job integrating the historical main building with newer additions. The location is stunning, with mountain views providing great sunset and moonrise vistas. A nearby river provides refreshment in the heat and the small town is about a 40 minute walk.
