I loved this place. We were greeted by the host Xavier and the curious and friendly Chateau cat and dog. I wish I'd known there were cook tops in the rooms but there was no fridge and no cookware or dining ware. I would stay a week if I went back - and bring things to cook. However they put...

We stayed as an Enroute option to Italy. It is quiet, easy to find and is what it says. The room was enormous and the bathroom facilities were good. The bedroom smells of damp and the bed is double and maybe should be upgraded to larger. We were left to do as we wanted. Only criticisms being: List of local...

Chateau de Werde takes you back in time. It's beautiful and romantic and very good located to visit the Alsace wine route or Strassbourg. I would definitely recommend it! If you prefer state of the art, and all the common luxury 5 star hotels offer you, don't go here. If you prefer a unique place with it's own character and...

A very comfortable stay at a reasonable price, for a little more this is a place to remember. The inside is well kept and furnished, the outside has the flavour of an old property. Nothing to complain about, the owners were available but you felt as if you had hired the whole building and the grounds, it is quiet and...

Though the Chateau wasn't in the heart of the wine region is was close enough to the area (10 min drive) and acted as a retreat from the tourist hub-bub. The staff were very friendly and kind. So was the family that live there. We were upgraded to a suite when we arrive and had a very nice introduction by...

We chose the Chateau de Werde because we had to be close to some friends' place. The location and the building are very picturesque... It looks like an old villa and you feel like you are back in time for a while. Unfortunately our room was a bit smelly (humidity, old carpets... Smell was weird)... Even if the bathroom was...

An old French chateau to stay in...sounded great. In practice, this B&B was very worn around the edges and lacked basic comforts. The proprietor was nice and the small staff helpful. However, possibly due to it being located on a rural river, there were some sort of winged bugs all over the floors, which grossed out my wife big time!...

Having booked two rooms 6 months in advance and with Great Expectations due to Tripadvisor positive comments, we arrived on a Tuesday at around 1 pm to find the place closed and deserted. The general climate of disrepair was such that we thought we were in the wrong place. We drove around trying to find our way until a local...

My husband and I arrived here on the 8th of September with our 6 year old daughter and our 9 year old son. When we drove up to the chateau-we drove away as we thought that outside looked so rustic-uhmmmmm. Then we returned and were in store for one of the most wonderful, luxurious and simply relaxing nights of our...
