Didn't feel like staying in town so twelve km off the A355, we found a recommended place tucked away in a pine forest. This is where General de Gaulle belted away of his typewriter ensuring history was personally recorded. It's tranquil complete with pool and restaurant. We loved the three km walk to the Mirador de Juanar with some spectacular...

I have visited this hotel many times in both the winter & summer months. It's location in the woods of Juanar is beautiful , just perfect for a relaxing break & mountain walks. There are huge log fires in the winter & dining outside on the sun drenched terrace in the summer near the swimming pool is bliss. The hotel...

I have gone up to the Juanar several times and walked no more than a km, just to get a photo opportunity of some rather lovely views of the Coast. This time (1 jan) we actually had a lunch in the restaurant. With my 8yr old son. Although a rather ugly outdated interior, and a dull looking restaurant with not-so-friendly...

Ideal for those looking for a relaxing couple of days. The "refugio" is nice and cozy. The team is very friendly. The food is good. From here you can access to several hiking routes that last from 1 to 6 hours depending on what you are looking for. The views from the tip of the mountain a spectacular over Marbella,...

Booked for three days, but left at soon as I could. Had booked smokefree due too allergy, but was checked in at smokey room. Tobacco well inpregnated in curtains, linen and so on. The room was simple and nicely painted, but not with light enough to read. There was no robe, safe, minibar, iron and heating as booked. The radiators...

One of the great things about coming regularly to the Costa del Sol is finding new gems to visit. This hotel is no exception, being located off the road from Marbella to Ojen. One follows the brown sign marked to Refugio de Juanar for about 7K along a twisty mountain road and is rewarded by finding this hotel located in...

Excellent facilities for us. We decided to use this hotel as we wanted to do two walks from there. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant and the food was good but a little overpriced.

Yesterday we took a little day trip to Ojen to drop off a friend at her hotel and we ended up for lunch at the Refugio de Juanar. A very popular spot in the mountains above Marbella and it took us a while to get there. It was busy but we were relatively early and sat down for some tapas...
