This property was recommended by a friend. Unfortunately, the gorgeous looking gardens in the photos were nowhere to be seen. It was completely overrun with weeds and long grass everywhere. The owner said that the tractor had broken down, but this was months worth of scrubbage. We spent very little time on the property, preferring walks in the Ardennes.

We booked chateau hodbomont 3 years ago and love everything about the place. The owners are the best hostess you could wish for and the surrounding are just beautiful. This year we wanted to have a break again and decided to go back to this Little paradise. It's still the same as 3 years ago, just wonderful! The nice thing... More

On arrival a drink was served in the garden, that's what I call a welcome! We got a large room overlooking the grounds, fantastic. Since we booked for 4 nights we wanted to have our dog in the room for a couple of hours during the daytime. That was impossible because our dog could not walk on the slippery (slippery... More

Really sweet owners with a property full of character. We reserved a long weekend two years ago during Easter and we are planning to return. We stayed in one of the apartments and they are up to date while keeping the charm and character of an old chateau. Service was superb and with attention to detail.

The other reviews for Chateau De Hodbomont are right on the mark. Booking and advice from Anke went very smoothly and efficiently, with her being fluent in many languages. We booked two accommodations, a two bedroom apartment for my wife and I, and our son. We also booked a room for our friends from Paris. Our arrival welcome was very... More

The weekend was just as perfect as the one we spent there last year. This time we stayed in the small apartment with its own fireplace. The breakfast was simply splendid, our little son shouting "wow" as the trays came in.

I can't do anything but agree with all comments below. A wonderful place to stay. Even though it's located in the middle of the small village of Hodbomont, it's very private and isolated. It's got huge gardens and even a pond. The rooms are furnished just perfectly to correspond to the atmosphere of the chateau. There are no words that... More

Absolutely wonderful! A friend recommended the Chateau and its Tower Room - the only one with a bathtub. And what a bathtub! But that was just a bonus. The experience begins with a warm welcome from Anke and the two gorgeous Gordon setters, and only gets better. Everything is provided for maximum comfort; one feels totally looked after and thoroughly... More

There is little to add to the other reviews - the place is splendid, a carefully restored chateau with elegant furniture, fireplace and everything you need for a relaxing weekend in the country side. The hosts went to extreme lengths to make the stay most comfortable and provided an excellent breakfast in the morning. We look forward to our next... More

“We stayed in the room left of the chateau. A beautiful sunny rounded room with big windows and a view over the lake and valley. And you can see this all; form your beautiful Art deco bed. It has a big bathroom with a big bath. So if you want to "spa" you can do it there too! ;-)”
