This is a fabulous place. We had four nights here at the end of a busy city holiday and it was just what we needed. The accommodation (villa) was amazing - so much attention to detail in the design of the bedroom and bathroom - we also enjoyed the balcony with views into the rain forest. The food was outstanding and there was something for all tastes. Just all round lovely and very special. The beach was beautiful. There was opportunity for windsurfing and paddle boarding etc or just to lie in comfort and enjoy.

Stayed in a pool villa for most of the stay - absolutely amazing - very spacious and comfortable - right on the lovely beach. Rainforest rooms are also superb but very enclosed in the jungle so will not suit everyone. The hotel has had an expensive refurb which clearly shows. Staff were fantastic. Great food - with four restaurants to choose from. Location is outstanding. Enjoyable waters sports - but need more and upgraded kit for windsurfing and sailing. Hotel strongly market its eco-credentials but could do a lot more - eg cleaning up rubbish in the bay, change sourcing of sparkling water from Italy, etc.

We have spent Christmas holidays with our family at this magical place. A hotel that boats history and celebrates it quietly and in style is all there is to say. Thank you for making our holidays so special. We will definitely return to celebrate white christmas with you!

This is our fifth stay in Datai and it never fails to impress. There isn’t another resort quite like it, nestled in nature, surrounded by beautiful trees, the gorgeous white sand beach and wildlife all around. The most outstanding thing about Datai, aside from its setting, are its staff. Everyone is warm, welcoming and kind. The level of service goes above and beyond any other resort we’ve visited. In particular, Chef Data Ram at Gulai House was most hospitable and made the most delicious food which our son loved. We would also like to acknowledge Syafiq, Mustafa, Azhari and Salehudin (aka Black) for their impeccable service. Looking forward to our next stay!

Absolutely stunning setting with incredible views. Food was outstanding as was the service. It is however very expensive but worth every penny. Room was spacious and very luxurious. Couldn’t really use the fabulous balcony match because of the monkeys & definitely need to keep doors closed at all times. I definitely plan to return.

The Datai is Hands down best hotel in Langkawi way above Ritz and Four Seasons Other 5* options battle for a distant #2 best hotel spot in Langkawi. We stayed in Langkawi 30 nights - the Dataï is Immersed in Nature, with service and food one big step up from its competitors. Much better secluded private beach also - probably the best in Langkawi anywhere. Occupancy 90+% - the results of success. But you never feel it. Datai is indeed more expensive (especially the food outlets and offsite activities) but way worth it. Don’t settle for less. Just not worth it.

Just back from another amazing stay at the Datai. We've stayed in many 5 star hotels around the world, but the Datai is truly unique and shines out from the rest for its beautiful location, the sheer variety of wildlife and nature to be found, its eco-friendly architecture and ethos and, of course, the super-efficient service from every member of the friendly and helpful staff. We always stay in a rainforest villa and love being able to sit out on the cool, shaded balcony and watch the dusky leaf monkeys, squirrels and birds on a daily basis - with the occasional treat of a wild pig walking along the stream below us, or a mouse deer searching around in the bushes. I'm certain that it would be possible to create a whole series of David Attenborough programmes, just from the area around the Datai! As I've already mentioned, all the staff are friendly and helpful - from the gardening team brushing leaves from the path upwards. I've picked out a few deserving of special mentions, with apologies for spellings and for anyone I've missed out. Firstly, Belle from Guest Loyalty who was there to meet us on our arrival, wave us off on departure and in between was always there to lend a helping hand or just have a friendly chat. Next Shaiful from the breakfast restaurant, whose smiling face, friendly nature and excellent service made breakfast even more of a pleasure than the delicious food offering already did. Buggy drivers Yaseen and Daim also deserve a special mention and thank you for their wide knowledge and love of the local wildlife and nature that they were keen to pass on to us. I'm sure that there were many more and I look forward to seeing them all again next year.

An amazing hotel, fantastic staff and beautiful surroundings. The rooms are great, the pools are lovely, the beach is beautiful with soft sand and clear sea. The food is great and the service is second to none. We played golf twice and again the service is great and the course is stunning. Second time here, having originally visited in 2019. Will return again I’m sure, it’s blissful.

Absolutely wonderful from the moment we arrived, the staff are all very welcoming and extremely helpful. The rooms are very luxurious, spacious, and well equipped, including UK plugs, so there is no need for any adapters. We dined at the Pavillion and Gulai House. Both were great, especially the Gulai House which was a favourite. The breakfast selection is vast with a delicious A la carte options also! We had an amazing night nature walk where we came across an array of wildfire, which made it quite an unforgettable experience. The hotel grounds are huge, there are plenty of buggies to get you around the premises. A special thank you to "Ashok" who was very helpful throughout our visit. There is alot of activities available and some light watersports on the beach. We were lucky enough to spot a pod of dolphins from the Beach which was amazing. I would definitely return to the Datai and highly recommend it. A big thank you to all the staff who made our stay one to remember.
