My family has stayed in th Andaman in the first week of January. We had a lovely stay. What is very disappointing though is there after service. After having paid online with my creditcard (which happened to be broken on arrival) they had to debit my husbands' creditcard for the full amount again. At the same time I was promised, and have signed for, a refund of my full payment. I was promised to get the full payment back within 2 weeks. It's the end of February now and nothing has been refunded. Telephone line is not working (probably due to the fire) and the emails I'm getting back are just telling me that I'll get get it refunded but no specific timeline or whatsoever. I've contacted the Marriot main office and they have made them replying to me again that the payment has been submitted to the bank (nearly a week ago) and that I'ld be informed once the transaction is done. Not sure how long people need for a simple transaction but this is crazy. Very unreliable and dodgy behaviour I must say. I would really appreciate it if someone of the hotel could react to this as it seems pretty complicated to get a proper response (if any) by email.…
This is perhaps one of the best places we ah e stayed in, in Malaysia. The resort is beautiful- tucked in a corner of the island with lush green thick equatorial forests as the backdrop and a breathtaking emerald sea right in front. The property is massive and superbly maintained with the friendliest staff. We got an airport pick up in a state of art Vellfire and the driver (Encik Ali) was really helpful and skilled and once didn’t feel a single bump on the road. It’s quite a long drive from the airport - about 40 mins but an enjoyable ride as well through the forest. We reached early and they let us check in by 12 pm and rooms were done up, spotlessly clean. They had even made an extra bed as they noted we had a child with us and this applied for both the rooms as we were two families travelling. We had the jacuzzi suites with the jacuzzi on the balcony so you can enjoy the view and sights and sound of nature while soaking in the jacuzzi. And no, it was not an apology of a jacuzzi - state of the art spacious (two adults could fit in comfortably) with changing lights and an option to play music as well. Took us a while to figure out how to operate it but once we managed it was really relaxing. There was a huge meandering swimming pool with slides et al for the kids. And yes, once in a while monitor lizards would jump in and swim with you (they were pretty harmless as long as you didn’t go near them - and this is coming from me with my fear of anything remotely reptilian). The food was good, though choices a bit limited especially if you are vegetarian. But yes the service staff is eager to help and can customise the seafood fried rice to a vegetarian one though you may still be charged the same rate (approx MYR 70) which is a bit steep for a veg fried rice. The taste of the food however is great and the breakfast buffet extensive with a wide variety of options including a veg soup base at the ‘make your own soup bowl’ counter. I can actually go on and on as we are so impressed with the property and the services! Oh yes! Do not miss the spa ! Serene secluded villas with well trained masseurs with spectacular views. Tried to do some justice with the pictures so do check them out . …
We stayed for 4 days 3 nights 5-8th January 2021. We were awed from the very beginnning. From when we were first picked up from airport until we were sent back. The staffs are all very friendly and helpful. Few i can name here are Prem and Chok Chai (Thai guy) both working at the lounge. I can see each of them are striving to give us the best service, and they seem to enjoy very much what they are doing. The hotel is very accommodative. When we told that our special child need a special diet everyday, they even provide us complimentary special meal for our kids, 3 times a day, everyday! First kind of experience we ever had. Kudos to the chef and the team. The beach and rainforest view are breathtakingly spectacular. The facility are excellent. You can rent for a small fee canoe or cyclo to do island hoping. You can borrow goggle and lifejacket FOC to do snorkerling. All in all, all of us enjoy the vacation so much. It is the best vacation experience ever we had so far. Feel sad to hear that the the building that we had daily breakfast there was on fire. I hope everything goes smoothly for the hotel management and all staff. We are looking forward for our next Andaman vacation.…
This is a true gem of Langkawi. After a long year of movement control orders we decided to spend the first week of 2021 here tucked away in the beautiful rainforest and amazing beach. The kids also had fun at night tracking down the very rare Colugo gliding primates. In regular fashion for all our visits here in the past the staff were the most attentive and accommodating. Keep up the magic of The Andaman.
My family of 3 stayed at the Andaman during a heavy booking period between Christmas 2020 and New Year. I couldn't believe that the hotel was 25 years old, as it was very well maintained. The location at Teluk Datai was secluded, nestled in a dense forest by the beach and practically hidden from the main island. Amongst many attractions, they have coral and marine biology programmes for children, which is very well run. The staff were very accomodating, despite a full-house & some demanding guests. I will certainly come back again.
