Wonderful place. Food, wine, good atmoshere (and own vintners shop) is superb. Service is always first class. To sit watching the numerous crackling fires with a book or the tumbling fishing river from the window, while being so well looked after, is a special joy. Book a room , relax and I promise it wil be hard to leave the...

Spent our 30th wedding anniversary here it was just perfect. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast, all of which were extremely good. Took along our two dogs which were welcomed by the staff. Stayed in room 15 which has lovely views of the river. Will definitely return. Would like to stay in the piggeries next time.

Sunday we visited for an absolutely amazing Sunday roast! probably the best we've ever eaten. lovely homemade food, perfect! we love this place and will certainly be...

We liked them because of the hidden away-ness and game dishes but although we visited at least once a month for the past year, we did not see a single game dish on the special menu even during the hight of the season. Just beef, lamb, chicken... Earlier on we thought we were just unlucky but after this many visits...

We have visited the Inn at Whitewell on many occasions it does not let us down, bit of a long trip from Knutsford but well worth it. If only Pubs in Cheshire for Sunday lunch were this good? We know the drill arrive before 2pm, find a table order drinks at the bar, sit and have your drink people watch,...

My daughter held her wedding reception in the marquee here. The staff were wonderful both on the day and during the planning. The quality of the the food was excellent. We stayed in the piggeries, and other friends and family stayed in other rooms in the main building. All of the facilities were very good, each room was individual, and...

The group of four ordered 3 fish and chips and one sea bass with cous cous and Harissa. The fish and chips were up to the renowned standard and thoroughly enjoyed! The sea bass however was presented skin side up but the skin was not quite crispy enough to enjoy and the wilted spinach was cold and needed seasoning. We...

Thank you for your thoughts, glad you enjoyed the fish and chips. Sorry the sea bass wasn't better. Lunch at lunch time shouldn't be considered restrictive, just lunch at tea surely rather odd? Regards Cb

The last few miles from Whalley seem to take for ever but is it worth it? Oh yes. Every time we pull up at the Inn we never fail to wonder at it's amazing location. The welcome was warm and friendly and our room absolutely gorgeous with that amazing view over the river and up towards the Trough of Bowland....

We have stayed here a few times now and it is one of our favourites. However , this time we were disappointed on arrival to find that the rooms that were booked down in the coach house was surrounded by an overwhelming smell of sewage. We asked at reception to be moved as the smell had even pervaded our bathroom...

Thank you for your review, so sorry about the smell, treatment tank being annoying, under the doctors care now, although the otters doesn't seem to mind but we do. Toast racks are great but we can't fit our home made brown into them, it's too fat. Thnaks again. Regards Cb
