Not only elevator construction but also next door parking house construction is disturbing your experience. If you turn left from elevator, you might think you walked thru portal to soviet union. Perhaphs some kind of temporary wall or curtain would be good there. Gym is really only a fitness room with few cardio equipment. Those were new and worked well, if you need such. Fitness room was well hidden, no signs until you reach the room (hint: 16th). Staff was friendly and easy to contact. Restaurant was good and always had few empty seats. But also breakfast area was hidden strange way into last end of restaurant. Cannot find any views at any direction, you can choose highway, industrial area, swamp or warehouse. Because of the construction works, I suggest delay visit until they finish that. But if only location matters, this is just fine.

The hotel is undergoing construction, the lifts appear to all be in use for this. The boiler shut down one night, I phoned the desk to see if it could be fixed. I was asked to call back after 7am. There was no hot water until after 8 am. The breakfast service doesn’t start until 7am, a bit late for business people

Not like it used to be!!! I visit this hotel every year and usually it feels like coming home. This time i got an email stating that renovations where happening and directly i called to hotel what this would mean for my stay, they assured me it was only going to be some construction noises during the day, i did not mind this at all since i was going to the convention center during the day. But upon arrival there where a few very disappoints: 1. Car park was only at 25% capacity so had to park on a parking lot elsewhere and take a shuttle to the hotel 2. The hallways and the rooms where so cold! After consulting the frontdesk they brought over a electric heater, this was making the air very very dry. 3. The room was not as clean as it should be, see attached photos All these points where not mentioned during the phone-call and the frontdesk staff where not very understanding and instead said: “this is all i can do” when charging the full price I expect full service which i did not get.

Stayed here for 1 night with a colleague. Family ran hotel chain in the Netherlands that are always finished to a very high standard. Room was large, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was very good with an omelette and pancake station. Good selection of drinks at the bar. Only downsides are that there was no screens for the football and it’s a bit far from a town centre so have to drive to venture out.

On our way to the convention we booked a stay at the Hotel Van der Valk in Houten because it was the closest to the convention center. Upon our arrival we were notified that we could not bring in our animals. Which is fair, we should have checked first, no problem! So since we had just booked a few hours prior to our arrival and paid online we asked for a refund and we would find another hotel. Leaving the animals in the car was not a option because they are temperature sensitive. We arrived at the Hotel approximately at 12:45. The lady at the front desk told us she is not able to issue a refund because we booked thru Hotels.com.If I had booked directly with her she could work with me but with Hotels.com there is nothing she can do. So I contacted Hotels.com and they were so kind to call up the Hotel. The same lady declined the refund to Hotels.com. First she claimed it's because of Hotels.com, then she said it was because we did not cancel before noon! We were 45 minutes late. When I asked her if I could speak to someone who could make that decision. She said "Well they are just going to say no also! So it won't do you any good. It is not OUR PROBLEM that you have animals and can not leave them in the car!"... I just thought WOW! It is not your problem! I guess she is right. I, the customer am not her problem. We didn't ask for anything except a little courtesy and flexibility. But I guess that is not available here. Worst experience in any hotel by far... ... it's just sad that she wouldn't even try to understand our situation and try to help, never asked a manager or supervisor. But things like that seem to come from the leadership down as she told me it would make no difference who I talked to. Very disappointing, very rude...

An unfortunate experience that left us unsettled.Staff upon check in was extremely rude, never experienced such arrogance and bad attitude in a hospitality environment. The room was very dirty and so was the bathroom. Dust everywhere, carpet was horrible, scum in the shower. Our room was not cleaned and bed was not made. Left a day earlier.

Found this hotel on trip advisor as it was close to the Expo Centre. Great location and Property well kept and clean. Stayed on the 8th floor in a standard room which was spacious and quiet at night. Very busy most days but hotel well able to cope with the demand. Staff very helpful and always pleasant to deal with. Even tried the hotel main restaurant which was surprisingly good! Absolutely will stay here again.

I mainly chose this for its proximity to the motorway in my way back to the UK. But I was pleasantly surprised by the room I was given. At one of the top levels facing west (enjoyed the summer sunset) it was massive and very luxurious. Very large and nice bathroom as well. This place also has restaurants that seem well visited by people around (I didnt make use of them). Would stay here again, although not sure I would get that lucky again with the room!

Excellent stay, as always, at this hotel. Room, food, service, facilities, location, price are all very well in balance. It is difficult to find better for this price if at all. Always a treat! The only thing I wonder about already for years why it is not changed, is the floor outside, in front of the revolving door. It looks great, but a few drops of water are enough to make it very slippery. Too slippery. I never fell but there must have been incidents and other wise it is a matter of time. It is not enough to rate down this hotel, but every time I forget to ask or tell someone in charge I feel a bit guilty. So, here it is and hope it will be picked up.

I was not expecting such a good hotel when I booked for business. Everything went fine, dinner was good, rooms large and comfy. Also the breakfast is very generous. I would just ask for a better gym room with more equipment and open earlier than 7am. I also prefer king beds rather than 2 twin beds with separate duvet cover... Will come back!
