The Veluwe is the perfect place to get a peaceful night’s sleep and wake up in the morning to the pleasant sound of birds chirping. Veluwe Hotel de Beyaerd is a pavilion hotel, which means that our hotel consists of several buildings. So you can saunter through the woodland garden to the main building for your breakfast. Any of our 91 rooms is therefore an excellent choice. If you are travelling with a large group, Villa De Beyaerd (for up to 15 people) can be yours for a weekend or mid-week stay. A great way to surprise your family and friends! During your stay at our hotel located at the edge of the Veluwe park, you can make use of all our facilities. In addition to the 91 hotel rooms, the hotel has its own restaurant, De Veluwse Huiskamer, the cosy Hooibergbar with open fireplace, a unique outdoor adventure centre, Veluwe Events, and, last but not least, an outdoor swimming pool with sauna. You can also rent a bike – perfect for exploring the Veluwe – and parking is available in front of the hotel.

Excellently positioned hotel for a peaceful countryside stay.
The room was clean and comfortable, though a little cold, even though the outside temperature was extremely hot. I am guessing that the cabin has very thick insulation. The room was always dark under the trees, and not facing the sun, which was disappointing. Pleasantly surprised that a coffee pod machine was provided, as well as a small kettle for tea, as this is not standard on the Continent, so I had not brought my usual survival kit with me!
Amazed at the huge size of the shower room, that was set up as a wet room. Unfortunately the shower drain did not work efficiently enough to counter the fact that the room floor sloped away from it! So water pooled across the room under the wash hand basin and vanity unit. This made the floor very slippery and dangerous. A large squeegee mop was provided, but it took some effort to push the water towards the floor drain. I therefore, only showered at night, and very quickly to use less water, when the floor could be left to dry out. The food was good, and vegetarian/vegan options were available. I particularly liked the breakfast buffet, where an excellent selection was set out every morning, and included sliced salad, and fresh fruit. There was only a problem one night, when the travel company hadn't booked dinner for my coach party, and I had been unable to buy food at the Floriad event which was caŕd only, and I had only euros! The hotel restaurant was very busy with another party, and the bar food too was not available....so I suffered a very hungry night. I only wanted bread and cheese, but no one would sell that to me! I often find that hotels, do not do 'basic' food, assuming that guests only want cooked! Thinking about this now, I probably should have gone to Reception to explain my plight, but I just thought it was my fault having only euros with me, and not noticing that only two night's dinners were provided. In the following days, I made sure that I always had cheese and salad rolls, as a backup!
The grounds around the hotel were pleasant and the swimming pool was in an attractive wooded area. Pity though, that there didn't seem to be any shops or cafes in walking distance!

The room (#122) was a nice style, clean and the bed was comfortable.....but.
Unfortunately the shampoo was empty upon arrival and when we reported this to reception, this was quckly replaced, however housekeeping also removed (and did not replace) most of our towels. Not sure why?
Whoever painted the walls, did not do a good job (see picture) and the wood next to the sink, while looks nice, is not the best choice of material as this easily stains (see picture).
We had dinner 2 nights in the hotel restaurant, however on BOTH nights, our order was messed up. I would really recommend the staff to write the order down to prevent this.
The wine (by the glass) was also not to our liking. I understand this is subjective, but i tried 2 different red wines (grape varieties which i would usually take) and both were not pleasant (cheap wine). My wife had the same experience with her 1 glass of white wine. So 3 different wines in total, and all were not good.
When we arrived in the room, there were various different coffee pods, however when these were replenished the next day, they were all the same (Unfortunately not with the ones we liked, from the day before).
The plates/cups from the room next door (where breakfast is served), were stored on trays and the trolley is then wheeled through the main restaurant, to the kitchen. I wouldn't mind if this was just once but this happened multiple times, while we we trying to enjoy our dinner, and is very distracting wth the rattling noise. I would expect this in a canteen, but not in a 4* hotel.
The standard of our room / facilties was nice, and probably justified of the 4* rating but unfortunately all the items mentioned above made us give it only an average review.

The room and hotel was a good quality, but it did not correspond exactly what we booked. Relax room was only with beds for two people instead 3, no minibar as on the description. The receptionist was solving this for 1 h with two young boys without more outcome than giving us the same size of the other room. When my boyfriend complained, since it was at 21.00 after long drive, she called security. The room was definitely not cleaned recently, due to the dust in corners.

In one weekend, I've had 3 issues regarding the staff, that looked like it was everybody's first day of work, as nobody knew what they were doing! Our hotel room was not the same as the one I booked (because I had a dog with us, and the hotel never informed me that the room I booked was not possible to get it with a dog, even though I asked on an email, which I never got a reply from); I previously ordered a lunch package, which when I went to request, nobody from the staff could tell me what the lunch package was or where I could get it, and it took forever for someone to fix the issue and finally give me my food; and finally, I ordered dinner from the tablet the hotel provides in the hotel room, for room service, and after an hour waiting for the food, we called the reception to see the status and they informed us the order wasn't actually made, because room service was not working during dinner hours (?????). Nobody ever informed us about this as well.
To not only complain, the nature around it was really beautiful and the food (when they finally give it to you) was also really tasty. But yeah, I've had a horrible experience and I am definitely not coming back or recommending this hotel to anybody.

Hotel is located in a great area and set up differently. The room was spacious and looked clean at first glance, but wasn't in the less visible places. Comfortable beds and good shower. At reception not everybody knew what the word hospitality entailed, pity, as it is the first impression. In the restaurant most staff were nice and pleasant. Breakfast was fine, quality of the dinners was OK, but nothing to write home about, a smallish bit of fish or meat, factory chips and a tiny salad.

We paid €500 for three nights including breakfast for the Comfy room.
It was filthy. Dust everywhere and dead bugs in our bed.
When I went to the reception to complain they gave us the room next door. Same situation. Dust everywhere.
When we came back after a walk with our dog, housekeeping had cleaned the room. But apparently forgot to close the door properly. I'm glad I put my laptop in the safe.
The breakfast buffet is limited. And the cutlery is dirty to say the least. A few of the glasses I got were chipped.
We definitely won't be coming back here. Awful.
And I don't get why they get 4 stars. Not even close.
We've paid way too much to stay here.
And why not put a light in the shower, but do install a black shower curtain. Doesn't make sense.

Horrible customer service! Rude, mean, nasty employees. They refused to do their job, let alone go out of their way to show they appreciate your business. I paid I $400.00 to stay her and I feel like I should have stayed in a 1 star hotel. I might have gotten better service. Do Not stay here! Do not waste your money!

Renovation is badly needed and seems to be in the planning. There are different blocks and the rooms in the one we stayed were OK. Food is very simple and no choice availabe. The menu is expensive.
We had a very attractive price deal and it was worth it. Nice surroundings in this beautiful area.

Responded 27 Sept 2016
Dear Frederic B, Thank you for your review on TripAdvisor. Apollo Hotel de Beyaerd takes all the feedback we get from our guests seriously and always aim to act upon it. I am glad to inform you that we have currently started some renovation in our hotel and are planning to continue forward in the coming years. It surprises me to hear that you experienced that there was no menu choice in our restaurant. We do offer a shared dining concept in which we offer a daily made 3 or 4 coarse menu. Next to our daily set menu we have a menu list that offers a variety of dishes such as grilled salmon or steak and is is always vailable. We do not want to give our guests the impression that they have limited choice in our restaurant. We will therefore discuss this matter with our team to ensure this will not happen again. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the surroundings and the area. We are looking forward to welcome you again in the near future.
