Detailed Reviews
We stayed here one overnight in combination with a visit to family in Ermelo.
The overall architecture of the hotel is beautiful, with its pond, fountains and sun-loungers.
Buffet breafkfast was extensive.
We made use of the hotel's offer to rent e-bikes, which costed €25 per day per bike, but was a very good experience.
The rooms look a bit dated though.

4 stars? Really? It is beautiful nature around. Shame, that management is bad. Rooms are very dated and plain. No drink water in the room, no minibar and very dark. Restaurant is the horrible place to eat... Boiled pork belly with overcooked cold two spoons of rice is 24 euro on menu. I will like to see Gordon Ramsey coming here for a bite. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary here and it was a big disappointment for us. Wine card is small and overpriced. Tomorrow booked a 1,5 hour wellness, will see...

I stayed here two nights because of a two day training I had in the neighbourhood.
The feel Of the hotel is a bit outdated, and the rooms are a bit smaller than I am used to.
The breakfast was to be ordered a day before due to Corona rules, and therefor it felt a bit poor and there was little choice.
I also ate at the restaurant and a steak ordered “bleu / rare” came back as medium.
Also their choice of beers was rather poor.

We decided to sleep at a hotel during Corona Crisis in order to have a nice little weekend away to get our mind cleared, it ended up in a DISASTER. I didn’t mind the aging room that was in a poor condition of maintenance, but what is absolutely shocking was the crazyness of the owner Mister Snellaars. This is literally what happened. We checked in around 1pm. Coming back from a walk in the forest around 4:00pm, we decided to go for a little walk in the garden of the hotel. Soon after, 3 men went out, including one watching us thoroughly. One employee came to us to ask us if we were sleeping here, which, in my mind, is not matching the level of a 4 stars hotel, which I told hi’. I saw he was a bit embarrassed but I knew his boss asked him, which he confirmed. So, in all honesty, I said that I had nothing against him and that he was only doing his job, but that I wanted to talk to his boss in order to have an open discussion about the do’s and don’t of a 4 stars hotel, and also to ask why he thought that we were not customers (I’m not walking in a forest with a Tuxedo and shiny shoes)
2nn after, employee came back, saying that he was sorry but his boss was “too busy” for us. At that point I became slightly agitated as there were literally 4 clients in the hotel, so we headed to the reception to file a complaint. The employees at the reception were absolutely lovely and earful, but at that point when I started to complain about the behavior of their manager, I heard shouting behind me. Guess who was hiding behind a wall listening to us? Yes, the so called busy boss, litteraly barking in my back that I was on the reception desk and I didn’t respect the rules. Fair enough, my elbow was on the reception desk, but I was 2meters away from the employee. But the funny part is that the boss was continuously barking at me...30cm from my face. When I raised my voice asking for distance and for explanations, he stepped back but this utterly disgusting man came back to my face, saying that “he doesn’t want people like us”. That’s it, out for nowhere. Then it escalated words-wise, and I asked my money back. Never seen that in my entire life, and I visited hotels....
PS: all the employees were lovely, I’d like to emphasize that: it must be really hard to work for somebody that is shouting all the time

Service is terrible, please train your staff.
Spa packages are a rip off, they even charge you for the bath ropes. This is not a 4 stars hotel, see my other review for the spa added in my photos. This is a 3 star hotel with a pool not prepared to provide a proper spa retreat, do not waste your money here. Very disappointed!

We booked two nights here, but almost left after the first. The hotel is very noisy, the personel is grumpy and we had a big discussion about the price, witch was higher than told on the fone.
The rooms are nice but noisy, the place were you have breakfast looks like a funeralhome.
So i am sorry, but can not recomend the place :(

Weekendbreak with lovely weather. Staff is very friendly and helpfull, hotel is modern and clean. Rented a bicycle for one day, reasonably priced and they can provide you with routes if you want.
They have a very good restaurant de Roggebot but we chose the Brasserie with a nice menu, wonderful terrace (no wind, good chairs and sunshine until late) and good wine. Also nice for a drink in the afternoon. They have a beautycenter which is nice for bad weather. We didn't try that.
The rooms are small and don't have airconditioning (you won't need that often in the Netherlands). The beds were a little too soft but that's personal. It was light and cosy only thing was that we could'nt get the room very dark during the night.
Breakfast is wonderful and we could have our breakfast outside on the terrace which was very nice. Good start of the day!

We stayed two nights in mid December and were very pleased with the overall atmosphere of the hotel. It has a nice setting, spacious gardens comfortable and cosy dining rooms and satisfactory food quality. Also excellent wellness facilities. The bedrooms though were very disappointing. Cheaply and poorly furnished, noisy low quality wood flooring. Frankly I have stayed in youth hostels with more upmarket sleeping quarters. Because of these we would not return to this hotel nor indeed recommend it other travellers. Grand public spaces are not matched by the quality of the bedrooms and bathrooms.

The first impression is very good, but some points had a negative effect on our stay. It merely was related to the room and the use of the wellness area. The room is adequate, but placing the head of the bed in front of the windows is not preferable. Regarding using the wellness area, the rent for housecoats is not what I expect of a hotel that says it has 4 stars. For the rent I can easily buy my own coat ;( But as said, it is a wonderful location and the restaurant is very good with a friendly staff.

I really wanted the negative people to be wrong about this hotel. We are currently staying here for 7 nights and while the overall impression is pleasant enough there are a couple of little things that just bring the whole experience down.
The biggest one:
You only get 2 coffee cups on check-in for your entire stay (!!). You can purchase additional coffee cups for 65 euro cents each. Now - I expect this at a youth hostel or a cheap highway motel, but NOT at a self proclaimed 4 star hotel.
Also - there is no mini bar in the room, there is no shampoo/conditioner etc. in the bathrooms. There are no wine glasses or any type of glasses in the room, just 2 plastic cups wrapped in plastic (again.... highway motel anyone??).
Don't expect a chef to freshly cook you an omelet or poached egg in the morning as you'll be disappointed. The breakfast buffet is good, there is plenty to eat and it's all lovely. But it's not a 4 star breakfast experience ;) (sensing the theme here??)
Don't get me wrong - it's an OK hotel. the beds are comfortable, the room is quiet, the breakfast buffet is more than sufficient and the location is superb. But if you expect the 4 star hotel experience you'll be disappointed.
