Detailed Reviews
Due to cancelled holiday plans abroad due to COVID we opted for a staycation at home. We booked the 5 day mini vacation including dinner at both restaurants for 2 evenings.
We loved every minute of our stay. From the excellent breakfast with champagne each day, the peacefulness of the location, comfortable room with view directly over the adjoining golf course, swimming in the pool every day, and to top it all, the excellent food in both the pop-up restaurant outdoors and the beautiful setting of the Michelin star restaurant. Food was truly delicious on both occasions.
Service is second to none. Very attentive and friendly, nothing too much trouble and when asked for something extra at your room, it was arranged and brought to the door within minutes.
Note it’s not cheap but worth every penny. You get what you pay for. Would highly recommend and we would return again.
A couple of small negatives. I missed a proper hairdryer in the room which I would expect in a 5 star hotel, especially needed when visiting the pool each day (vs. the wall-fitted one in the bathroom which is no longer from this time, plus pretty useless for women with longer hair)!
The bathroom tiles need to be replaced as they were looking very tired. The bathroom fittings were modern and appeared new.
These 2 little points did not take away from our overall enjoyment.

We stayed here two nights and enjoyed it a lot. The room was very nice with a lovely view, dinner was very good and the staff in the restaurant were friendly and helpful.
After the first night and dinner we wanted to make reservations for another such a great dinner.
We were then told at the reception that both restaurants were fully booked and we could look in the village for restaurants.
At no point we, being hotel guest, were told it was important to book for dinner because of limited capacity due to COVID-19. Also they did not try to find a solution like offering a table in the lounge and ordering from the lounge menu or to do a late afternoon high tea.
When we protested then we did get a booking in a the Michelin starred restaurant. We had a great dinner and noticed it was never full....
For breakfast we chose the time slot 9:30-11:00, on our last day we got asked to leave at 10:50 because of preparations for lunch. When I said breakfast is til 11am and that I was waiting for my husband to come back they said we need to clean for lunch.
These two examples make me think that the hotel staff should be more aware of the quote at the reception:
True luxury you can only feel

Wonderful Hotel surrounded by a picture perfect golf club and forest.
The rooms are spacious, recently renovated and extremely comfortable.
The main restaurant diner De Heeren van Harinxma is wonderful. The food is innovative and extremely well accomplished. The reviews spoke very highly of this restaurant and we were not disappointed. The menu is set but you can choose how many plates you wish to have. All were very well crafted with local fresh produce and it’s difficult to describe how well accomplished and tasty every dish was.
The vaccination certificate was required as was the use of antibacterial gel before entering the restaurant which is very comforting.
Overall a wonderful place with top quality service and an extraordinary restaurant.

We had a nice stay at Landgoed Lauswolt. We stayed in a spacious room with balcony and modern well equipped bathroom (room 121 panorama). Room has all desirable amenities including, bathrobes and the ability to make coffee. Contents minibar – 2 types of water and nuts – are also included. In addition to a fine bed, a separate comfortable seat. Comfortable room to stay there for a day.
Of the extensive wellness facilities, we only used the swimming pool. Pool with sun loungers is really surprising. In November – with an outside temperature of approximately 12 degrees – you can easily swim from the indoor pool into the outdoor pool. Really a nice experience in pleasant hot water. This gives great photo opportunities.
In the evening we used dinner in the restaurant Heeren van Harinxma. Dinner was good and expected.
The location of the hotel is great for walking in the adjacent forest area, cycling or playing golf on the adjacent golf course. We love to come back here again.

During our anniversary spoiled by the whole team of Lauswolt. Hospitality at its best can be experienced here during a stay in the sublime hotel, equipped with all facilities and spacious, clean rooms overlooking the garden. During dinner enjoyed beautiful flavors with matching wines and appropriate service. The teams led by Saskia, Alwin and Seb really pampered us from A to Z. The next day after a fine breakfast still enjoyed the area, which is perfect for a quick walk. Definitely see you soon!

What a pleasure to stay here! Beautiful location, all details are correct. Enjoyed a 5-course dinner complimented with fantastic wine choices made by the sommeliers, then slept wonderfully in a beautiful and especially spacious junior suite. Definitely recommended for a romantic evening away.

Welcoming hotel. Friendly staff, friendly staff. Very good kitchen! Service could be better. Sugar bread with the coffee upon receipt was forgotten and was also charged while it was part of the arrangement. Wine was served late at 2 courses, at 1 course even after serving the dish. At breakfast was ordered egg forgotten, at the tables around us the champagne and also an egg.

Last time we were here probably 10 years ago. Again another super stay. Staff is very friendly and helpful. All things are done with a very personal touch with an eye for detail. Good bitterballs. Loverly breakfast.

Very nice reception. Our junior suite was not ready yet and therefore we first enjoyed a delicious lunch on the beautiful sunlit terrace with a beautiful view over the park with the golf course. Nice and correct service. Then a walk through the forests that were very soggy due to the abundant rains of late. We stayed two nights in a spacious junior suite that we found comfortable, but a bit gloomy in terms of color scheme. The first evening we had dinner in classic restaurant De Heeren van Harinxma that has one Michelin star. We got a small, round table at the window and were unfortunately not impressed. We liked the food, but not to write home about it. Too many sprouts and pustules of everything and actually we had enough after the heavy intermediate dish of crispy rösti with stream knight. We thought it was a messy evening and the service came across in a hurry. We had the impression that the hotel was completely full on that night and that people were struggling to keep up. The turn down service at this hotel is negligible. Just turning a corner of the duvet and putting a cream on the pillow is not enough when you have the slogan ‘True luxury you cannot see, true luxury you can only feel’ in the reception. The breakfast buffet we found fine. We also found the dinner in bistro Nijeholt good and cozy. We spoke to a few people after returning home who also stay here occasionally. They say they stay here because of the beautiful golf course and that they also like the bistro the most. Compliments to the service of the hotel. It was striking how much they are all enjoying themselves in this hotel and they also want to please the guests. Special are also the many storks that have their nest here and fly around in full.

Reserved a table on a busy Saturday evening (full hotel). Nevertheless, great pace, kitchen and service, exemplary! Some coarsely bubbly, not very refined rose champagne, tasty spreads and appetizers, some thick pastry crusts but tasty, deliciously fresh tuna dish, scallops, raviolis, Spanish secreto and beautiful sauces with everything! Tasty dessert. Frisian down-to-earth service, correct and attentive. Beautiful half wine arrangement bob. But rose champagne can be more refined...Enjoyed in all respects, price-quality in order, fully worth the star!
