Detailed Reviews
To start with the positives: Our room was spacious with a good sized bed and a lovely big bathroom. The staff were polite, helpful and made every effort to maintain a sense of normality despite the corona restrictions. The food was very good. For dinner one could choose between a 3 up to a 7 course meal either meat/fish or vegetarian. They were generous with a number of small tantalizing amuses (I could have eaten a kilo of the crab sesame sticks!). Breakfast was a special treat which was also kicked off with an amuse...lovely touch.
Points for consideration: 4 courses should have been enough for a hearty meal but fell well short. The gardens were not at their best in October though the sculptures were well worth viewing.

The Chateauhotel is truly an exceptional property. The grounds are full of unique sculptures, the rooms are spotless and magnificent, the dining is magnificent and best of all the staff are always courteous, helpful and professional. My wife and I have travelled in many countries and we can genuinely say that this hotel was one of our best.

In The Netherlands hotel guests may enjoy the hotel restaurant; one good reason to spend one Sunday night in this charming hotel.
We were lucky with the weather, we could walk in the sun with our dog and afterwards enjoy the hotel and the restaurant.
The hotel is great to look at, very traditional "horst", and the restaurant was simply fantastic.

Chateau De Havixhorst is an excellent, quiet and luxurious hotel. They have only suites (8), all furnished in a classy different way. The suites are enormous (up to 85 sqm), the bathrooms always with bath and seperate shower.
The staff is friendly and competent.
The restaurant serves excellent food and the wine cellar provides you a large choice of excellent wines. You even have the possibility to have diner in the wine cellar (by candle light !)
On top of that, the prices are quite moderate :
I stayed in a superb suite for only 107 Euro/night, breakfast included.
Really recommendable !

We stayed one night in Havixhorst.
The rooms were very warm and not airconditioned. The bathroom spacious, but no window. Not a luxurious bathroom, but nothing wrong with it.
The mattresses were very soft.
Breakfast wonderful, dinner absolutely stunning.
Would highly recommend, although it is not cheap at all.

Beautiful building and surroundings, fine restaurant and nice wine list. Rooms are simple and without any extra’s, the bathroom was not very clean 175 euro per person for a room with breakfast is no value for money.

We - unfortunately - did not have the chance to spend the night although we are sure that would have been very pleasant. But the lunch we enjoyed - in the garden - was very good. Excellent friendly and attentive service, a plain wooden garden table that was decked out for us with beautiful table linnen. Nice plates and table cutlery and beautifully presented courses that tasted very good. A bottle of white house wine of good quality and all that for a price that did not break the bank. A shame we don't live close enough to go there more often.
This was the first time after 15 years we came back to the Havixhorst which we used to visit frequently with business relations when we stil lived and worked in the area. In those days they already were very good and they obviously are still at the same level. Congratulations at maintaining that standard over such a long period.
The garden of the hotel-restuarant hosts a sculpture exhibition which is worth a visit by itself.

Had an amazing stay and dinner at De Havixhorst. Pricy, but very worth it. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. Dinner is Michelin-worthy with staff that is extraordinarily well trained and obviously very happy to be working there. Beautiful wine pairings came with every course.
Rooms were huge, beds amazing, bathroom huge but maybe a bit outdated (but what to expect in an old chateau), breakfast beautifully served at the table. Couldn't complain about anything as this was simply an amazing stay. Well ran hotel and restaurant with an amazing team. Chapeau.

This was one of those places you stay you really want to like but you just never quite feel at home in. The Chateau is beautiful and the would have to be the most spacious room I have ever stayed in. The service was for most parts good except for one person whom it seemed that we were bothering him just by being there but he was the exception to the rule, the rest were willing to help. The wifi was without fault. The furniture in the room seem not to match anything and it’s only purpose was to take up space. The 2 main draw backs for me were when we ran a bath the water at best was just the hot side of Luke warm and the same for the first shower in the morning. The other thing was the person above was running a marathon in his room until well after midnight. In all our travels we have never complained about the noise of another guest but this was the closest I have ever come. I can’t blame the hotel for a noisey neighbor but they do need to be aware that the noise so easily carries from above to below. So take away the noisey neighbours my only drawback was the hot water really the rest was fine or better. We would stay here again.

A former old estate, located in a natural forest. Relaxing and quiet atmosphere.
Room was located in the attic, furnished little bit too dark.
Elevator is slow and can be somehow strange-scarry.
Garden is extremely nice full with sculptures.
Service is excellent.
