In the ancient Baglio, an old farm house, you will discover the typical sicilian colours, scents and tastes. Agriturismo Vultaggio is located between Erice and Marsala, sorrounded by citrus and olive groves, vineyard; in front of Egadi isles and Mothia. Only 10 minutes far from Marausa Lido beach. Our restaurant, from 2001 on Osterie d'Italia (Slow Food magazine), Foodies (Gambero Rosso magazine), has been focusing on Slow Food philosophy. We use only products from our crops, local products and Sicilian Slow Food (Pistacchio from Bronte, lentils from Ustica, Sicilian black bee honey, seasalt of Trapani, red garlic from Nubia, Vastedda cheese from Valle del Belice, black porc from Nebrodi, etc). You can taste different rustic appetizers (olives, panelle, caponata, cheese, cold cuts and other specialities) our "busiate", fresh typical hand-made pasta of Trapani area; main corses with meat choice; side dishes with vegetables from our crops. New entry in our menu: Pizza! Slow leavening (24h), "Antichi Grani Siciliani" biological flour and others local biological flour (Molini del Ponte from Castelvetrano) for a crisp and tasting pizza of choice.

The location is marvellous for those who appreciate Mother Nature. The view is breathtaking. The food was authentic and delicious and our waiter Andrea was the best ever, attentive friendly competent and sincere. What else do do you need to make a perfect dinner?

This place was recommended by friends Italian who had stayed here before, in particular for the food. Valentina was wonderful, she assisted us with our reservation. Federica, who is usually at the 'reception' starts out chilly and once you get to know her, she is sweet and kind. Giuseppe and his wife are wonderful hosts, kind and knowledgeable. In particular this place has a wonderful selection of wines, and Giuseppe and Andrea know them all. Sergio was a delightful young man, always helpful and kind. The family atmosphere, the location, and the food made this an ideal place to use as our base while in the area. The room, be sure to get the 'sea view 'side, it makes a difference as the room itself is underwhelming, Clean and comfortable and overprices for what they are in themselves. As well, as indicated here, the breakfast is also underwhelming, though in our 3 weeks it was one of the few places that even offered breakfast. We ate diner there every night and the cost of the meals and wine somehow compensated for the cost of the room. Overall, we would return for the people, the food, and the wine.

Stayed October 21, 2019 Restaurant: Every dish we had was absolutely superb.(Pasta, meats, salads, vegetables) Locally sourced fresh everything, excellent house wine, specialty bread made on premises, local olive oil beyond compare. Head waiter was VERY attentive, answered all questions and accommodated all special requests. Hotel/room: Not wonderful, certainly not worth the off season price. Very small room, barely enough room to walk around the double bed once we put the luggage on the floor. Bathroom had the usual tiny shower; no bidet. Clean. Very different than the picture on the web. But the most frustrating was the girl that checked us in , at 7:30 PM, who wanted to charge us DOUBLE for the room because there were 2 of us. I might have understood an extra small charge for breakfast, but no... an extra $70... for the same tiny room !!! After a $10 phone call to Hotels.com, and a half hour of negotiations, she accepted the previous reservation we made with hotels.com. Bottom line: stay somewhere else but definitely go to the restaurant!

Hello, we are happy you appreciated our staff and we are sorry you did not enjoyed your stay. Our Agriturismo is not just for people who stay here, our restaurant is opened also for external customers. We are (fortunately) famouse among local people because of our excellent cuisine and for this reason the choose us for their event (birthday, weddings, ecc). Of course, for parties we make the music stop at midnight: it is a must. Here with us you can enojoy the traditional sicilian welcome (food and habbits), and yes, sometimes we are a bit noisy. We are not really a desert isle in a complete silent. We hope to see you again soon and try to change your mind. Regards Agriturismo Vultaggio staff

When traveling through Sicily you'll find many opportunities to stay at B & B locations. This particular location is about 20 minutes away from Trapani. Which isn't that far of a drive. Just make sure you time your visit to the city correctly or you'll be driving into a ghost town. Most shops and restaurants close between 2 and 3pm. This location is well established. They have several rooms plus a restaurant. It's a pretty big operation. It feels more like a motel and less of a quiet B & B. The pool area is very nice. When we checked in we were told the pool closes at 7pm which seemed like an odd time considering we were in the middle of no where and the pool wasn't even near any of the rooms. Then I realized why this early closing was happening. The staff was setting up for a private party next to the pool. That is never a good feeling especially when you are a guest and you booked a room to enjoy the pool. The mattress was probably the softest mattress in all of Sicily. It was a nice change from sleeping on rock hard mattresses. The air conditioner in our room wasn't working very good. I had to mess with the controller a lot until I finally got it blowing some cool air. There were also a lot of flies in our room. I had to kill a bunch of them myself. It was really annoying. I'm not sure how that can be fixed but it was not enjoyable. In our three week stay traveling around Sicily this was the only place we encountered a fly issue. We had dinner in the restaurant. It's a great view for sunset. The evening sky lit up like fire. The food was just okay. I was actually a little let down. It was kind of the first underwhelming meal we've had in the last 10 days of traveling. I'd recommend the free house made bread with there house made olive oil. I'd also recommend the Gnocchi di pane di tumminia al pistachio di Bronte and the bbq chicken. Out of all the things we ordered these were delicious. The pork chop was over cooked. The veal isn't really veal and was chewy with a lot of fat. It was a very tough piece of beef. The sausage was good and dense but dry and over cooked. The house made pasta was okay and the tablespoon of red sauce was not enough to even cover it. Luckily I had the bottle of olive oil on the table to make my pasta taste good. The team of waiters were good but they kept trying to take our dishes away without asking. I finally had them trained by the end of dinner. They would actually ask, "Can I take your dish now?" I was impressed because you can't change a Sicilian. Breakfast was okay. You had to cut your own salami and bread with the dullest knife in the world. It was like a culinary challenge. If you could cut it, then you could eat it. There were some definite health violations with everyone touching the bread and meat. If you wanted orange juice you had to squeeze it yourself. We definitely had to work for our breakfast. We stayed at many B&B's in Sicily and the breakfast here was our least favorite. It didn't feel special. We also didn't care for the room. It was very dark and the lack of air conditioning made the room uncomfortable. We couldn't even open the window because our screen had a whole in it. We already had a room full of flies and I didn't want to let more in. We would definitely not come back to this location.

This was our first stay at an Agriturismo and it surpassed our expectations, staff were so friendly and helpful, accommodation was clean, spacious and well organised. The restaurant produced wonderful food, mostly grown by the farm or neighbouring farms. Locals visited the restaurant every night and there were several large functions whilst there but these were well managed and we never felt crowded or overlooked which evidenced how good it was. Pool was heaven in the heat and quiet. Highly recommend a visit.

Hotel and restaurant staff were so friendly and courteous. Food was so fresh and absolutely delicious! I am gluten free and I have never eaten at a restaurant that was more accommodating. Homemade focaccia bread, arancine, the pizza!!! It's been almost a year since we visited and I still think about the food I ate. It was my third trip to Italy, my first in Sicily. I've eaten some of the best food I've ever tasted at that restaurant. ❤

Great place in the Sycylii for family. We spent 2 weeks in Agriturismo. The Agriturismo has perfect localization with amazing view, very good local food in the restaurant, perfect swimming pool. Close to Trapani, Erice or Marsali. The staff is very friendly and helpful. All the best for Adriano and Valentina. We highly recomend this place.

Vultaggio is my first agriturismo. And what a wonderful experience! Five stars is not enough. Also the spa is great, best “relaxing massage “ ever. We had possibility to have a cooking class with Francisco. Warm (self made) bread, olive oil, a little salt and some local red wine. Perfect.

Lovely room overlooking a distant view of the Egadi islands. Lovely pool setting, wellness center. The restaurant is amazing and serves all delicious traditional cuisine with incredibly reasonable prices. If you’re nearby, it’s so worth a short trip to the restaurant. It appears to be a place where locals celebrate special occasions because the food is so good.
