South of Rekyjavik a great base if you don't want to be in the thick of it 24/7. Close to Smariland Iceland biggest shopping mall. (It's not that big in comparison but why compare.) Close to two local outdoor thermal pools that cost the same as your local swimming baths but much more fun. Breakfast is provided and is really... More

This was a nice hotel. Our travel agency booked us here because we had three people. The hotel is near a very nice mall that is within walking distance and the bus stop is a short walk. The rooms are basic and clean. I agree with one commenter on the pillows being thin and few. My friend was very happy... More

The hotel is just outside of town so highway access during rush hour is better than in town. Reykjavik is about a 15 minute ride. The rooms are efficient and inexpensive. All staff were all very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast is sufficient. I particularly like the fresh warm wheat bread. Come down early if you want warm eggs and... More

We spent one night here after we flew into Iceland. We were able to check in at about 9 am and take a nap before sight seeing. The hotel is new and nice, but not fancy. Standard Nordic design. The pillows are small and week but they gave us an extra set. Breakfast was good, standard Icelandic fare. Eggs, bacon,... More

Hotel Smari was our first stay in Iceland, and we were pleased with the accommodations. Staff was friendly and very willing to help with our questions. We stopped by early to see if there was a place to store our luggage while we did some early sightseeing, and we were pleasantly surprised to be able to check in, since the... More

Great breakfast and clean, quiet rooms. The water smelled like sulfur. I am guessing that is normal for Iceland. I would stay here again. Location right on road from KEF airport and within walking distance to mall. Great India Street Food just up the street. Staff very helpful in making connections with tours and ferry to Westman Islands.

Lovely hotel in Iceland, I didn't pick this hotel as booked this trip through Groupon, so pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. The room was reasonably large for Iceland and was kept immaculate.
