Popped in for a quick lunch on Thursday after a walk along the canal. Ordered two sandwiches and were not disappointed the steak and onion ciabatta is lovely. The crumble dessert means this isn't a '5' star as it was "nothing to write home about", mushy fruit and a luke warm topping but the mains, service and atmosphere make up...

Discovered The Bridge Inn at Ratho this evening ... such a delightful resting Inn after a long day. Warm and inviting. Cullen Skink ... to die for! Rested and rejuvenated, but will return to try these interesting Short Ribs!

I have had lovely meals at the Bridge Inn until tonight when I chose the twice baked souffle. I was expecting a light fluffy souffle but instead was served a flat dish of egg and onion smothered in melted cheese. Sorry Bridge Inn this dish does not do your menu justice.

What a super quick and tasty lunch prepared for us: seven hungry builders with little time to have lunch. When staff were told we were in a 'real' hurry in a very busy lunch service, we were hoping that the food arrived in time for us to enjoy and not get heartburn! Not a problem; all courses arrived quickly, piping...

We had an 8 person family reunion at the Bridge Inn on Saturday evening in February. We all had a great night, real ales, really good pub grub, good choice and very friendly staff. My wife and I stayed the night in one of the four bedrooms. We had a four poster bed and beautiful en suite; the room was...

We went to celebrate my dad's special birthday and we're certainly not disappointed. The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable about the food. Lovely menu to suit all tastes and the food tasted divine. My dad was given a complimentary drink and dessert with a candle in it which was a really nice touch. I would not hesitate to recommend this...

My wife found the Bridge Inn whilst searching for somewhere to stay close to the airport. What a find! Food, accommodation, service and people were all excellent. The chef is really very good and the food fresh, inventive and outstanding. Don't miss the full Scottish breakfast - it will last you all day.

Enjoyed a lovely meal on Sunday evening to celebrate a family birthday. Great food and fantastic friendly service from start to finish. Our birthday cake prepared and served by the staff with a smile and a song. What more can you ask for. Thanks

We popped in for breakfast on Sunday morning. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. This is a great stop if you have walked or cycled the canal. They were very welcoming advising us of bike racks where we could leave our bikes. Can't praise the illy coffee and bacon sandwiches highly enough. A great example of doing the...

Alex the cocktail wizard. You my friend will be remembered with fondness and joy - for bringing the world of Bertie Basset to Scotland. For creating the cocktail to smash all cocktails. For mixing it up - and..... not a drop of alcohol in sight! Dude! The recipe is our little secret remember: Orange juice Splash of cranberry juice Splash...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated in a stunning and picturesque setting on the banks of the Union Canal, the Bridge Inn is a unique pub and restaurant. The Bridge Inn is a wonderful place to visit, to taste some of our freshly cooked food, try some cask ales or sample from our expanding wine list, and enjoy a warm and friendly atmosphere and welcome. Wherever possible we use seasonal, Scottish, fresh, local produce, and everything is freshly prepared. We grow our own herbs and vegetables in a walled garden slightly along the canal from the pub. We have a small herd of saddleback pigs, and our menus often feature delicious home-produced pork on the menu. We use locally-shot game when it is in season. We always have a range of cask ales from breweries which we know throughout Scotland. We have had lots of fun selecting our wine list, which we have tried to make one of the best value wine lists in Scotland. And we currently have on a selection of over 20 single malts from around this beautiful country. We have now finished an ambitious renovation project that has transformed the Bridge Inn. We have created an atmospheric country pub in the 18th century part of the building with open fires and comfortable seating. We have altered the upstairs to create 4 beautiful and unique en-suite bedrooms. They each have a different feel, but each has its own view of the canal and surrounding countryside. The Bridge Inn won Best B & B by Visit Scotland's Thistle Awards for the East of Scotland. Finally our bistro alongside the canal has been upgraded and we have added a terrace alongside the building to make the most of our unique setting. ... more   less
