Stayed here for one night as it was close to the airport and had an early flight the following day. Arrived at around 6.30am and the night porter was extremely helpful and friendly, and managed to check in my room early and have a European style breakfast at the hotel. The pool area is really clean and well looked after, and my room had excellent air conditioning and was quiet at night time. The local area feels safe and although limited in respect of supermarkets etc, does have a couple of restaurants and takeaways. The bathroom in my room was slightly run down and the shower screen was flimsy, however the room overall was very pleasant. I walked to the airport, which took me about 20 minutes with a large suitcase, but the hotel did offer an early shuttle (would have been at around 4.30am) for €20 (which I thought was expensive given the distance to the airport). The walking route is fine however there is a small strip of road with no marked pavement, which during the day I could imagine is quite unsafe as it’s quite a fast stretch of road. I paid just under £50 for the room so couldn’t fault the value for money for this hotel. All of the staff were so helpful and friendly, and it was clean and convenient. Thank you for an enjoyable stay!…
I had a confirmed booking, here is what happened: called all day before arrival, to confirm arrival time, no answer - and then Hotel was completely locked down when I arrived in the evening, see chain-locked gate!!!
We visited Venice by cruise ship The day we were due to visit there were seven other cruise ships in eight in total We arrived at 2.30 am We boarded a river taxi which took us to just by the post office were we were meet by a couple of tour guides The morning was very misty but with our ear pieces plug in we started our walking tour The streets are very narrow and we were told the rule of walking round the city was to keep to the right , this way ensure a smooth passage for all concerned We stopped at various famous landmark such as the Realto bridge We stopped at a little cafe were we all were given a coffee or tea and biscuit We then had the choice of being escorted back to the pier to go back to the cruise ship or remain in the city to explore more. St Marks square was very busy but never the less enjoyable We were very lucky to be able to walk around in T-shirt’s compared to a month later when Venice flooded…
After our debacle with the Principe Hotel, we booked the Venice Resort Hotel, which is close to the airport, area Tessera. What a charm, what nice people. We spent 2 glorious nights there and a few seconds out of the hotel was the most stunning Italian Restaurant. What a treat. Most enjoyable and will certainly stay again.
Close to airport. 15 euros by taxi (no shuttle offered by hotel). Clean and quaint. Very safe area. Hotel staff speaks English. Breakfast good selection (European breakfast buffet). Would recommend this hotel for the price.
