We spent awesome holidays in Santa Cristina Castle. The place is located a bit far from all the major cities, the mobile signal and the Wi-Fi are mostly round reception and the breakfast room. But this is not disturbing at all and fells good, being away from all the rush and just enjoying the nature and the horses. The accommodation...

Last week we returned from a 5-day family vacation in Tuscany-Italy. Luckily we had decided to stay in ‘Castello di Santa Cristina’ which we found after a research in the internet, since we wanted to combine our stay with horse riding for our youngest daughter. The place reminded us of a fairy tale…. and actually was exactly what we had...

We arrived here after booking with far and ride. The castle room was organised for us as a special treat. The horses are very well cared for. The surrounding area beautiful, if you go book the full day ride with a visit to the lake, there are two lakes you can go too, both are apparently great days out. We...

Spent a full week riding at this lovely place somewhere in nowhere in Tuscany. The Castle/hotell lies quite a distance from any major city and the mobile coverage is poor, only one landline to the reception. But we loved to stay at a place where no one could reach us. Our trail was the 'Medieval Castle Trail' where we stayed...

I couldn't recommend il Castello enough. I was a little nervous about heading away on my own to a place I'd not been to before but I needn't have worried. The accommodation was superb - I was lucky enough to have an apartment to myself with a cute kitchen which would have been grand if I had had the energy...

Mrs Cristina is very welcoming and her castle is beautiful. The area is not a very touristy area of Italy but she managed to develop activities with horses and bicycle riding for groups and families that has a good dynamic. The little apartments are cosy and beds are very good. Breakfast was okay, dinner was average but we only had...

When I booked this place on line I was nervous. I don't always trust what's depicted on the internet and then what you find in reality. But the pictures don't do this place justice. I found the accommodation (we stayed in Apartment Capodimonte) comfortable but by no means luxury but I didn't want luxury just a bed that I could...

This is a very interesting place. Advance knowledge of its exact features is critical in subsequent enjoyment of the stay here. Firstly, the entire compound is driven by proximity to horses. If your idea of a great vacation includes riding horses - you must consider this option. The actual lodging amenities are fairly basic and if it was simply a...

In the middle of the Tuscany country side, stunning surroundings, a place you will remember and want to return to. Whether riding, or a base to stay, Castello di Santa Cristina has everything you want and need. If you ride, there are lessons from fantastic teachers, able to deal with all levels, but the hacks are those of dreams!

My best friend and I chose Santa Christina for our double birthday celebration week-end with a party of 24 - unseen! We trusted the advice of Italy specialist Hege Meldal of http://www.italiafrelst.no and did not regret it for a moment. We had been able to arrange quite a bit in advance by phone and email since both the owner, Antonio...

Located at the borders of Lazio, Umbria & Tuscany, one and a half hours from Rome, half way between Orvieto and Siena, the breathtakingly splendid 17th century castle, Castello di Santa Cristina, (complete with fairytale turret) has been the property of the noble Caterini family for generations. Over the past ten years, the castle' s nearby 18th Century ivy-covered farmhouse and out-buildings have been carefully restored to retain their authenticity and separated into 8 self-catering cottages and 14 bedrooms with Bed & Breakfast for guests, furnished with original pieces, can offer you unique country holidays. A perfect location if you are looking at farmhouse holidays where you can explore the various neighboring historic towns including Orvieto, Sorano, Acquapendente and Grotte Di Castro. We offer sensational Tuscan cuisine, fantastic cooking courses and unique weddings in the castle grounds. The Castello di Santa Cristina is also an ideal place for a horse riding holiday. On our exciting trail excursions, we travel as far as Proceno, Lake Bolsena and to the beautiful nature reserve Selva Del Lamone.
