The room was furnished with second hand or old unwanted furniture. What were we paying for. there was a horrible dark coloured bathroom suite (old) the host did give us a interesting and informative walk around the plantation and arranged for us to go on a lovely drive to a dam with a picnic. He and his son ate with... More

This is a difficult review to write because we have very mixed feelings about our stay. Matthew is very attentive but rather domineering so that one feels just too directed at times. He told us on our arrival that he only lets one room at a time because otherwise the guests ignore him and talk among themselves. We did not... More

We were welcomed graciously by Dr. Matthew and his family, and we enjoyed learning more about healthcare in India as well as about the challenges of running an organic plantation. We had a tour of the plantation and marvelled at the diversity and complexity of running such a venture. We enjoyed a trip to the nearby dam, and the wonderful... More

Dr Mathew and his family run a fine homestay, with pleasant ,if not exciting, air conditioned rooms and quite acceptable bathroom facilities and a relaxing lounge if you have the time in the evening. The good doctor and his family conducted us around the one time full rubber estate , which is now diversifying to meet modern requirements , and... More

We stayed one night during our month visit to S. India. We were warmly greeted by our charming host and owner (a retired medical man) who showed us to our spacious rooms. The property is large and beautifully constructed with much teak in evidence. The garden grounds and estate beyond are all well tended and most attractive. With this being... More

We arrived very lat in this privately owned Manor on a huge plantation. The proprietor, a very educated and cultivated medical professor waited with his family with the dinner which we took together with him! In the conversations we learned a lot about the christian minority's life in southrn India. The room was spacious, calm, with views only on the... More

This is a wonderful Homestay with a lovely family. The house is really comfortable and the food was delicious. Even though it was raining heavy while I visited that didn't stop Vivek & Matthew showing me their fascinating plantation.

Stayed at this beautiful plantation for a few nights and we were genuinely sorry to leave. Mathew and his son Vivek showed us round the plantation and explained the working of the different processes, includung a short visit to the coconut oil plant just down the road. The rubber tapping and the production of sheet rubber was also a unique... More

We only stayed for a few days but it felt as though we were part of the family, meal times were a real treat with a chance to experience genuine Keralan cuisine. Our trip to nearby Siruvani Dam was a highlight of the holiday with a sighting of a herd of elephants in the hills where were completely alone. Enjoy... More

We had a magical 2 nights at the Planters retreat. The family hosts went out of their way to make us welcome and comfortable and we had a truly authentic Keralan experience. The cuisine was extraordinary and the surroundings fascinating and we learnt so much about the culture. There is plenty to see in the near by forest and some... More
