I stayed here for two nights in November 2019 and loved it! They have a great common area and the staff was great. The room I stayed in had AC and a fan, but no window, but who needs a window for sleeping - It's almost better not having one. They have dogs, cats, hens and a rooster on the premises and I joined the staff getting a Grab to Pantai Tanjung Beach up north on the first evening during low tide.

We stayed more days than we were supposed to cause it felt like home, the staff is super friendly. They organice barbacues for the guests and they have an amazing breakfast (price worthy).
On top of everything they have the best wifi I have seen in Southeast Asia, we test it and it was 51,1Mbps downlink and on the 33,9Mbps uplink. Wow!

This place has a home kind of feeling- the lovely French couple who runs this place will make everything to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The accommodation is quite basic but the furniture is nice and stylish. Eco-friendly designs. Other perks: proximity to the beach( like 10 minutes walk), detachment from the road and rush (the place is next to the jungle and has a country-side feeling), opportunity to meet and chat with interesting people yet this is not one of those loud party hostels. In general lovely getaway for young people, especially couples.

Could be quite noisy. It said I had a garden view but there was a small building and a table in front of my window where people would sit so not so much a view nor did I open the curtain a lot. Could have been cleener, some old spiderwebs and bugs but nothing to serious. Only a sheet on the bed, could get chilly. A/c turned on automatically even when I turned it off sometimes (timer was also off). Wifi and signal strenght was sometimes good and sometimes very weak (and I was in the first building). Basic accomodation with fan and a/c, which worked well. Pool access nearby. Enough place for clothes and stuff. There's lots of books left by other travelers and also a closet with free clothes if you need any! Laid back vibes and lounge, very friendly staff. Close to beach, restaurants, convenience shops (5-20min walk to everything or get Grab for 5RM). Comfortable bed, shower, good towels. All in all it was a nice stay.

We have stayed in similar eco guesthouses during our travels and always found them to have a lovely atmosphere and usually a bit further out from town making them quiet and peaceful. We stayed at the Crowded House with similar expectations.

The signs promised that the accommodation was friendly, quiet and closer to nature... unfortunately this was the louded place we have stayed during the last six months in Asia. The location is great, ten minutes from a small strip of cafes and restaurants and similar distance to the beach. You walk down a dirt track and the building has trees and long grass surrounding it. But the sounds of nature is drowned out by the constant thud of loud music which seems to be turned up around 11pm and played well into the early hours.

Both nights we were unable to sleep until around 1:30am due to the constantly drumming of the music! The walls are very thin and it's so disrespectful to play music so loudly while people are trying to sleep. We had an early flight to catch after our second night and after finally managing to get to sleep, we were woken up at 3am by cars outside, people talking loudly and all the lights been turned on in the corridor outside our room! After 15 minutes my boyfriend had to leave our room and request that people keep the noise down. Another ten minutes after this I had to go turn off all the lights and close the accommodation door which had been left wide open.

The rooms are simple but adequate, with no windows or natural light. There were holes in the ceiling that insects flew threw but we had both a fan and air con. The kitchen was filthy with bins that are overflowing, sticky work surfaces, rotting food in the fridge and insects everywhere (due to this). I definitely wouldn't want to make or eat anything here.

We didn't manage to connect to any wifi during our stay, which we didn't really mind, it just made catching a grab or taxi to the airport quite difficult as they was no one around to help. Luckily the hotel nearby ordered us a taxi (this is the hotel with the lovely pool you can use while staying at crowded house).

When we checked in the staff seemed friendly, so I would recommend this hostel-like accommodation to people wanting to socialise with others while drinking and listening to music into the early hours. If, like us, you are looking for somewhere to enjoy the peace and nature of Langkawi and are planning to go on some early morning trips around the island, I'd give the Crowded House a wide berth.

I would recommend this for backpackers time and time again. The staff made our stay very enjoyable, and they create a social atmosphere. The room was huge and the air conditioning is needed in the heat. Free tea (& milk!) and coffee, and you can buy breakfast at a good price if you want it. The bar is priced very reasonably. Get a scooter to visit the island - the staff will tell you where to hire from. The nice beach is only a 10 minute walk away. Taxi is 30 ringgits from the port.

I spent 8 days in the Crowded House, 5 with a friend and 3 as a lonely traveller. From the very first encounter, the owner Nabil welcomes you as if you were home, make sure your room suits you and explains everything there is to know about the hotel and Langkawai island. He and his team are really helpful. Sarah, Marina and the rest of the great staff are always ready to talk and make sure you have a good time. The rooms are clean, the food is really good, the drinks as well and the reception area is a little paradise where everyone meets for a beer, a dinner or a ping pong contest. Sometimes, barbecues are organized and punch is made, and with a TV and a guitar, you have some of the best nights of your life. It's a very quiet and joyful place. The Tengah beach is 5 minutes walking distance and the sunset there is marvelous. The restaurants near the crowded house are also very good and diversified. Don't hesitate to go there, it is a sure way of loving your vacations on Langkawi island ! Thank you again guys !

This place is awesome. The staff are lovely. The bed isn’t the comfiest but in 6 months travelling this was one of our favourite places due to the chilled vibe. It made us feel totally at home and relaxed. It was really quiet at night and got a great sleep while it’s near to the beach and plenty of restaurants.

Visited last year, and it was so good came back again this year.
It has the best atmosphere of any place I have visited.
It's not luxury that makes this place, but the mix of excellent owners/staff and this attracts some amazing guests...just sit back and soak up the atmosphere, and share the good times!
I'll be back as soon as i can.
