From the moment you arrive, the team are attentive and friendly - in a natural and kind way. They told us that they have many returning guests, who come every year and reserve their favourite rooms. For all the reasons listed by other guests, Casa Del Mar's consistent 5 star ratings is justified.
We immediately felt at home, staff and other guests were very friendly. The residents hang around the resort and beach bar a lot so there is a friendly atmosphere. The staff make a concerted effort to talk to all guests.
This is a smaller resort of about 30 rooms in a great location on the best part of the beach.
Very hard to find anything wrong with this place but if there is one thing, the room rate was not so competitive for the nights we stayed. We had transferred from a Marriott Luxury resort where we paid 10% less per night, but this may be more a reflection on CDM having a strong European clientele whereas other resorts could have been already discounting to reflect very decreased guest numbers due to the current virus.
On a positive note people in Malaysia are cautious about the virus but it does not feel like a major issue at all locally. Don't let it stop you coming.

It's my second time to stay at this luxurious boutique hotel, having visited twice before as well just to have dinner and drinks at their beautiful beach bar. Something keeps drawing me back here .. like a moth to flame!! I felt a sense of peace and nostalgia as if i was returning to something safe, familiar and comforting. The staff at this place as my friend aptly put it , are ROCK STARS. They gave me the sense of home ...nothing was too much trouble, always aiming to give their best with the most beautiful smiles on their faces. You could ask them anything and they would always go out of their way to help. From the reservation team to the F&B team and the people that manned the bar and the chef / sous chef - i could never forget how special you made my family and I feel KUDOS to each and everyone of you. The place itself is idyllic with white sandy beaches and azure colored waters fringed by swaying coconut palms. The rooms are spacious , well cleaned and the turn down service in the evenings with hot chocolate and jazz music is a stroke of genius. During the hot sultry afternoons, complimentary glasses of iced cold water, skewers of fresh fruit, soothing cold towels and ice cream are floated to the guests. Breakfast was super marvelous and most people in our group who normally sleep in late and skip breakfast in other hotels, made it a point to turn up for breakfast here. As we were checking out , we were already planning our return journey. That in itself speaks volumes.......

We have stayed at the Casa del Mar on many occasions and, as usual, this was another wonderful stay. From the many little thoughtful gestures such as sundowner cocktails, cool refreshing towels, iced water, home made cookies and fresh fruit to the wonderful location and staff who truly do everything they can to make you feel at home. We have stayed in many hotels throughout the world and, find this hotel hard to beat. If you're looking for a small, boutique hotel whose values are totally guest focussed, this is the one for you.

Would recommend to stay here, clean, friendly staff, great breakfast. Need to improve in the allocation of chairs around the pool. Guests are putting towels down and not using them for 3-4 hours. So lots of chairs with a blue towel and no guests and no where to sit. This certainly needs to be improved by staff removing towels after 1 hour.

This is a real oasis of peace and relaxation. Everything is made for that- the late breakfast, the lack of noise in the evening, the small size and the personal service. This however is the reason why I'm giving this gem 4 stars instead of 5- it is just too quiet. Especially in the evenings- the bar doesn't have something like a lounge area for guests to socialize and the music is so quiet that you almost feel you should whisper. Also while the setting, service and quality of food in the restaurant are amazing, the prices are a bit exaggerated and the menu fairly limited. Apart from those minor niggles its a fantastic place. Rooms well thought, fantastic beach and pool, well stocked and reasonably priced mini bar and everyone is meeting you with a smile. And breakfast is simply the best in the world. Hope to return.

Casa Del Mar is a must-stay when at Cenang Beach. This beautiful accommodation is right on the beach next to a walking path that goes all the way to the far end of the beach where there are restaurants and bars. It is impeccably maintained and the staff provide top notch service including turn down service and treats when you are a return customer. Rooms have a very private feel and are a nice size and have beautiful seas views (if you choose a sea view room). Highly recommend.

After reading all the good reviews here, we decided to stay at CDM as it's close to shops and the beachfront, and was said to be high quality and peaceful boutique hotel that catered to couples like who wanted a kid-free environment. We stayed for 5 nights, the first two of which were in the seaview room and then extended 3 nights to the beachfront studio suite ( full house and we lucky to get a studio villa). 5 nights stays gave us free transportation to and from the airport. The hotel has Mediterranean charms. The garden was well-maintained with shaded trees, Bougainvillea vines, and watching resident cats playing made us feel like home. The food was amazing, the sunset dinner was memorable. The staffs are friendly. We had lunch at Tanjung Rhu Resort and Pelangi Resort and we believe that CDM was the best resort for location and friendly services.

We have just returned from Langkawi after staying at the wonderful Casa del Mar. This was our third visit, and again we were not disappointed. The staff from the airport pickup though to the front desk check in, the waiters, waitresses, chefs, bar staff, cleaning team, maintenance & gardeners were exceptional. They are all so welcoming, friendly and go out of their way to make your stay memorable.
We came with friends who we recommend it to, and they were equally delighted.
We ate breakfast every day at the hotel where the choices were great and served with a smile by both Adila & Keyla. We also had lunch most days which again was great, the chef even cooked a fish that we caught whilst out with Captain Lee on one occasion.
The New Year dinner event was very good. I had a few dietary requirements from the set menu and these were made with little or no fuss. The entertainment and interaction with the staff throughout the event made for a superb evening. The in-house dinning served to us on the beach was very good, again we had plenty of choices and some good wine too...!
We went fishing one day with Captain Lee, a special mention to Lee as he was amazing. He also recommended a catamaran trip that was a fantastic day, the company was called Crystal Yacht where we were able to swim, fish, sunbathe & relax, with food and drink aplenty..!
As a suggestion - A few years ago the hotel had its own boat called The Capricorn that we used a few times to explore the beautiful islands. This as I understand was moved to Thailand? It would be great if the owners would consider investing in another as I am sure the customers would jump at the idea!?

We had a fantastic holiday staying at Casa Del Mar in early June. The staff were extremely helpful, warm and welcoming and we loved all the extra touches that made our trip memorable. For example, staff bringing out water for guests at pool side (without asking) and the turn down service in the evening which left our room smelling beautiful. The restaurant has an excellent menu with a selection of both local and European dishes - and the food is delicious. Our room was perfect for two people (beachfront studio suite) with a large comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom. The beachfront location was good for walking on Pantai Cenang Beach, going to bars and watching the tourist activity. However it should be noted that those seeking a quieter holiday with less traffic on the beach (cars, motorbikes, jet skis and people), there are some quieter beaches on Langkawi. This hotel is great value for money in my opinion and I highly recommend it for short or longer stays. We will definitely be going back.
