This really is a discovery! What a superb restaurant with great service, a wonderful selection of food specialties and a wine list you can only dream of. And the best Comes when you pay: increadibly reasonable prices. The inside (the historic restaurant at the right side, after entering, as well as the terrace are stunningly beautiful.

Found this place by chance between Lucern and Interlaken. What a lovely little village with some fantastic views overlooking lake and mountains. Accommodation at the Gasthaus Engel was comfortable and homely. We were surprised to find the restaurant in the Gasthaus was a 1 Hat Michelin star awarded in 2016. The food was spectacular and surprisingly very affordable. A great...

We stumbled upon this little place while driving by. It's recently renovated, clean and safe. We had 3 rooms and all were very spiffy. Breakfast excellent. Staff very accommodating. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend without hesitation.

Brilliant cooking combining classical Swiss dishes with modern influences and succeeding. A pretty setting too with a covered terrace for summer dining. The service is very good too and a short but extremely well balanced wine list rouds off what is easily one of the best tables in central Switzerland.

We found this hotel on line. Booking was very easy and no deposits were required. It is situated just a two minute walk from the lake. There is easy parking in the square outside and the welcome was excellent. The rooms are typical Swiss with plenty of wood but are spacious and immaculate. We ate at the hotel. The food...

The hotel is spotless, the food good and the staff charming. The location is very convenient, especially for a one-night stop if you are travelling through. The windows are triple-glazed and very effective at shutting out noise. The village is spotless and pleasant to wander round. Altogether a very nice small hotel, and one to which I will happily return.

We stayed here because we couldn't get suitable accommodation on the other side of the lake so we went via Sachseln instead. It is right on the road so front rooms get a bit of traffic noise but the double glazing dulls this as long as it's not too hot to have your window shut. Single rooms are very small....

Good room for one night, with comfy bed and private bathroom and WIFI in the room and restaurant. The buffet breakfast was excellent. It's a good value. The food was also very good quality and service also very nice. They have a menu in French also and the choice is nice with some exotic things.

This is a quaint little hotel in the center of Sachseln. Rooms are modern and clean but fairly basic (no TV - no WLAN in room). Breakfast is simple but tasty and fresh. Service is superb so is the restaurant at the hotel. Price is great at CHF 65 for a single room (small bed) - Highly recommended.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel in the middle of nowhere. It is a solid 3 star nice hotel with the owner who takes good care of this historic property. I can't say that it is centrally located, but for Sachseln the location is one of the best. The hotel features free internet. The rooms were very clean, but...
