We are a group of four that took up two private rooms at the beginning and end of the TMB trip. The bathroom and shower facilities are shared. Wifis are available on every floor. The rooms on the top floor are a bit tight but the rooms at the third floor are much more spacious, with shared balcony that you...

When I advised the manager / owner half an hour after arrival that I required a vegetarian meal I was shouted at (not what you want after 6 hours walking). I was then served a meal with the meat simply picked out and lots of it left in which I could not eat. Otherwise breakfast, room and showers etc were...

We stayed at the Pension en Plein Air for the simple reason that it was the first place mentioned in Kev Reynold's excellent guidebook. We found it to be a great place - reasonable price (for Champex which is a bit upscale for rustic trekkers), lots of historic charm (check out the old photo and post card next to the...

For starters, the beds in the door room have dividing walls and curtains providing privacy. And if that is not enough. Each bed has a little cubby hole closer to you can put your gear away. Good wifi. But, plugs a bit hard to find. Generous dinner portions and happily accommodated my request for gluten free. In my view one...

I had a reasonably nice stay here along the TMB. Rooms were spacious enough and the showers were hot. The staff were friendly - although the food wasn't the most exciting, it was more than enough to fill the belly for the next day's trek and I would definitely stay here again.

Awful, awful place. By far the worst stayed at on the TMB. The lady was indescribably rude, food was terrible, rooms miniscule & cramped, uni-sex tiny bathrooms.... I could go on & on.... I can only understand that this horrible woman gets away with her dreadful service & accommodation by having essentially a monopoly on cheap accommodation in Champex-Lac. But...

The service was so unfriendly and confrontational. Quality of food shocking. Overall very very sad for my guests and myself. One of my hikers arrived early after an injury - they refused to let her in and treated her and our group like a piece of dirt.

If I could give this no stars I would. Two friends and I had pre booked and payed for a private room here. We arrived at 7pm, so yes a little later then normal. We walked through the door (after removing boots etc) and met the lady running it, we told her of our reservation - she screamed at us...

This is the second time we have stayed here, so we knew about the 4 o'clock opening, which I admit is a bit odd, especially if the weather isn't great. Apart from that, we felt very at home here. We treated ourselves to a private room, which was clean and comfortable, with two big windows and plenty of space to...

We arrived as part of our TMB and was looking forward for a break at Champex, planed to take a day rest on the lake. We arrived around 13:00 and there was no soul in the place. No receptionist, no housemaid, nothing. It was a hot day and we could not stay in the little foyer at the entrance with...

“We asked for a private room, wanting a break from dormitory living, but if you are economising go for the dorms - they are fine and provide quite a lot of room per person.”
