Fantastic food, friendly staff, reasonable prices and beautiful scenery. Opens early for breakfast which is great if you're a walker. Always busy so booking...

One of the beauties of walking on the moors is you can find routes which give you an excuse to visit a cafe or pub. On the trail or at the finish. The Lion Inn stands in such a great location, overlooking the colourful and often windswept moorland. This is my second visit here and it's a lovely, welcoming pub....

Went along to The Lion Inn for lunch with family, home cooked food is superb, nice warm, relaxed and cosy atmosphere. Always get talking to fellow vistors as attracts a lot of walkers who ramble through the North Yorkshire Moors and stop for refreshment. Also dogs welcome which is nice, always look forward to stopping by this pub.

The conviviality, cuisine and chilling ambiance went a long way to alleviate our throbbing feet after achieving the half way - 20 mile mark - of our 40 mile historic and extremely challenging Lyke Wake Walk. The potent combination of friendly staff and regulars, roaring fire, eclectic mix of pooches and fantastic food made our overnight beak memorable and relaxing,...
