My husband and I spent a week in the camping coach at Goathland Station. The hotel is a 15 min. walk away, so we decided to have dinner here. Everything was perfect. We hadn't booked and it was busy, but when I asked if we could eat in the dining room instead of the crowded bars, we were quickly given...

I have stayed many times at the Mallyan and each and every time it is so good that I can not wait to come back. This time we stayed with a larger than normal group. Nothing was to much trouble, reserving side rooms for us to ensure we could all sit together, rearranging the dining room so we could all...

Had a weekend break and just wanted somewhere quiet, comfortable and yet within striking distance of the coast. Mallyan Spout was a perfect choice for us, excellent service, lovely food and a very comfortable bar/lounge area. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable with a nice view over the gardens (number 19). No lift so you need to be good on...

After a pleasant stroll round Goathland and a mooch in the gift shops, my wife and I called in at the Mallyan Spout for our lunch. The hotel is set in beautiful gardens and surroundings and indeed some guests were taking advantage of this to enjoy their lunch al fresco! We headed for the bar which was relatively quiet, however...

Stayed three nights at the Mallyan Spout and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The welcome was warm and the room was clean and comfortable. Really glad we got a room with a bath as we are keen walkers and I needed a good soak both days. The deal we got was Dinner, B&B on a 3 for 2 offer. We both...

Staying in Goathland about 15 mins walk from the Mallyan Spout. We walked through freezing rain and wind to the hotel (in May!) It was a huge relief to arrive in the bar to a very friendly reception from the staff and some delicious food and wine. This is a great place and we happily visited again, during our stay....

My friend & I booked afternoon tea here for after our walk, or should I say hike to the spout on Friday 8th May. We were greeted very warmly by the staff & shown into the sitting room where it was more like a comfy front room. we had lovely tea & gorgeous sandwiches for my friend who's a vegetarian,...

Visited Goathland today and had lunch at the hotel. Greeted by a friendly barman and given a menu and shown the specials board. I chose scampi and chips with a portion of onion rings and my husband ordered cod and chips. The meal was very quick to arrive, piping hot and massive. Everything on the plates was cooked brilliantly with...

Had an excellent break with my husband once again at this hotel. This is the third time we have been here over the last 5 years. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. The rooms are very nice, but room 16 is a little on the small size for the price. Food is very good and well presented.
