I find this bewildering. I have read all the rave reviews and that simply wasn't our experience. Our overnight stay did not come close to our expectations. The approach to the property is stunning, a beautiful house, full of history and character. Sadly, the land seems to have been sold off, so no woodland walks, just the drive and a...

My boyfriend and I stayed over last Friday night in the Tudor Room. We'd booked at fairly short notice having decided on a night away to visit my sister who lives in the area. Got a great deal on booking.com,price was about £80 which included breakfast for us both. Prior to arriving we obviously looked at reviews and pictures online,and...

I have to say that Soughton Hall was an absolute delight from the moment I arrived. Beautiful period building with roaring log fires was a very welcoming destination on a rather dreich February afternoon. Very comfortable room with 4 poster bed, ensuite was fabulous and I even had time to enjoy a soak in the very deep bath. Dinner was...

Just getting around to leaving a review of our two stays at Soughton. 1st was on November 10 2016 for our anniversary of the day we met 46 years ago, stayed in the Butlers Suite, what a memorable room, it is on ground level with huge windows looking out to the famous avenue of trees. The room was everything you...

My husband and I stayed here just for one night, wish it could have been more. A beautifully renovated old county home. Very relaxed, friendly staff, lovely bedroom and an enjoyable evening meal. My husband has limited mobility so I had contacted the hotel before hand regarding the bedroom and access and they were so accommodating I had no concerns....

What does one imagine when they think of North East Wales? Industry, Airbus and an odd scouse/welsh accent are probably some ideas. When I think of North East Wales, I think of beautiful rolling hills, sheep and quaint hotels. Soughton Hall Hotel certainly does deliver on the quaint hotel side of things! From the incredible half mile drive through an...

Where to start! Everything about this place is incredible. As you turn the corner on the lane and see the house at the end of a stunning driveway, you immediately fall in love with the place. On arriving, the staff were really friendly and helpful, took our bags up to our room (we stayed in School Room). The room itself...

We stayed here many years ago when it was a privately owned hotel. We were so looking forward to our return visit and booked the mot expensive room in the place. We were so terribly disappointed. We stayed in the Mahogany room and were given a key with a large metal tab to which a piece of paper had been...

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to Soughton Hall. We purchased the property in early 2016 and have been extensively renovating the property throughout. Mahogany does have some wonderful features but I appreciate your feedback with regards to those elements mentioned in your review and accept that these are not acceptable. This room was on...
