The bar staff left us waiting for a longtime before serving drinks, even longer for the food order. Several times staff walked past us to go behind the bar but didn't acknowledge we were there. Asked abruptly if we were ready to order after being kept waiting ages.

We dropped into the Ship Inn for a beer while waiting for the local chippy to open up. We had a couple of excellent real ales, Darkstar Hophead and Canterbury Millers Ale. Enjoyed the atmosphere and contrary to earlier review staff were friendly and this had a good locals pub atmosphere at the front. The remainder of the pub is...

Stayed here for a night, to enjoy the beauty of Dover. Excellent service with a smile, clean and comfortable room, and delicious food. Even the storm wasn't enough to dampen our weekend.

We were a party of 9 and were given a private room as the restaurant was full. The welcome and service was very good. The have their own micro-brewery as well as several other beers and a nice wine list. The food was very good and the owner came in to thank us for choosing his pub. Altogether we had...

A great little place and location if you want an overnight stop before catching an early ferry or euro tunnel. Great food too. No private parking is the downside but easy enough to stop on the road outside. Recommended!!

We live locally and came here for lunch for the first time recently with my wife and young daughter (nearly 4yrs). The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the food was surprisingly good, even if my steak was very well done when I asked for medium. Unfortunately our visit was spoiled by a totally unnecessary altercation with the owner...

Great location and lovely food- the fish and chips were great and there were lots of other things on the menu I am looking forward to trying. It gets very busy at peak times but they let you take plastic glasses onto the beach so there's always somewhere to sit.

I stayed with my husband in the deck room. I am out of step with a lot of these reviews. It wasn't what I had envisaged from reading reviews before booking. We were tsken around the back to the cottage and the entrance was disconcerting and the hall way was scruffy. . The door to our room needed a good...

We were out for a sunday walk/stroll , & came across this pub/inn. Coming from london and being a chef we just fancied a pint and bar snack. When entering the bar staff/lady on 23rd july was very nice as was the chef who was out doing some orders or something and mentions the specials that day, thus the octopus...

2nd visit before we went to France via the euro tunnel. We stayed in the deck room, which the hosts called the small room. We wouldn't have called it small and it had everything we needed. Lovely and clean, toiletries provided and tea/coffee and water etc ready in the room. Breakfast was great the next morning and set is off...
