We spent 2 nights at Glenlo Abbey in October and it was a great base to explore Galway County and city. The room itself is average but the corrib deluxe room is definitely worth the extra expense. Beautiful views of the river and grounds. Breakfast each morning was wonderful (presentation & taste) and the oak cellar bar was a nice,...

Just spent the weekend with my sister at the Glenlo Abbey Hotel and just loved it. The hotel itself was so pretty and had such a warm welcoming feeling to it. It was decorated with lots of Christmas trees and decorations but they were so tastefully done. Our room (206) was really comfortable and warm and the twin beds were...

Dear Dollysister2, Many thanks for your lovely comments regarding your recent time in Glenlo Abbey. We were all very relieved to see the back of Storm Desmond with minimal damage and it is very reassuring to note that your experience was not affected by the extremities of the weather during that weekend. We loved you review and would dearly love...

We had dinner at the River Room Restaurant Glenlo Abbey recently, overall it was a good experience. Seamus & the lady server were very friendly and attentive, the pianist in the background added some ambience as there were not many other diners on Sunday evening. We were offered just The Pullman Menu which for myself was very limited due to...

Dear ClaireandJohn, Thank you for your feedback of your recent experience in the River Room Restaurant. During a short period in the winter months we close the Pullman Restaurant and the elegant River Room is our fine dining option for guests to the hotel on midweek dates. We have recently added a resident pianist to this room which adds greatly...

Spent three nights at this hotel and loved everything about it. The staff were excellent, as was the food and service. Had dinner in the orient express railway carriage and it was a treat. A lovely relaxing break and just 10 minutes from all the hustle and bustle of Galway City.

The mattress is not a pillow top as they advertise. The mattress sags about 5 inches. One of the worst mattresses that I ever TRIED to sleep on. The Windows also need to be replaced. It was windy during the night and the Windows whistled all night long. Very noisy

Dear WilliamGuenther, Many thanks for taking the time to detail your stay at the hotel. I note you had two issues one being the bedding and the other the weather. It really is a pity that your comments relating to the bedding were retrospective as realistically this gave us little opportunity to rectify the matter before it became such a...

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Glenlo Abbey (2 couples with 2 kids each and 2 seniors). The absolute highlight of our stay was a falconry class set up by the concierge.
