I'm posting this to endorse what I said last year about this amazing hotel. It's great for a winter's break because if you were trapped here for three days you wouldn't complain, please keep on doing what you're doing and we hope to visit again.

Superlatives are not enough to describe The Lugger and it's amazing position in Portloe. My husband booked a surprise birthday break there which coincided with Valentines. Our room looked over the small port and the view was stunning. The staff are lovely and all of the little extras really made it memorable. Hot water bottles smuggled into our bed and...

We went for dinner recently and weren't impressed. It's a shame because the location is great and we were looking forward to our meal. I suppose the alarm should have sounded when I booked and the person made it sound like she was doing me a favour taking the booking and said she could only fit us in early. The...

Had two wonderful days in this charming hotel. Arrived in storms but then had blue skies and sunshine so we saw Cornwall in all her moods. Staff were really welcoming and helpful and although we didn't have a sea view we were still able to hear the sea. Our room 203 was large with a large bathroom and the back...

Following a recommendation we visited today for lunch. We went with the dog and kids and sat on the terrace ( no dogs inside but if the weather is up to it, this is definitely the best seat in the house). We had a warm welcome and great friendly service. We chose two course set menu for £12 and it...

From the moment you arrive til when you check out you are very well looked after by the staff. The staff are friendly and attentive without being over the top. The hotel is clearly having a non invasive refurb, room by room. Exceptional quality dining and breakfast. Was a welcomed surprise to find, after dinner, in our room a couple...

This is a fantastic place to stay. The rooms are clean and warm. We had gales and foul weather and although you could certainly hear the wind it was nothing more than you'd expect from a building off that age in such conditions. flapjack was left at turn down, with hot water bottles and marshmallows and hot chocolate. Dinner was...

My partner surprised me good and proper with a night's stay in this lovely hotel! From the warm and friendly welcome to the fond goodbyes, we felt special and valued. Our Boxer dog too! We stayed in the Boat House, just across the way from the main hotel. Our cosy room came complete with a bowl of apples, sachets of...

We went for a birthday weekend with friends and could not have been looked after better. Very nicely decorated rooms although we did not book early enough to get a view of the sea, but we were perfectly happy with what we had. Dinner was excellent, fresh local produce and beautifully presented. There is a very small terrace perched on...

My husband booked here for a romantic getaway knowing that I love the sea and being near it. This hotels location didn't disappoint. The view from the restaurant is stunning. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean and cosy and it's always the small things that please me. The home baked cookies in the room on...

Dear Shellie, Many thanks for your entry in Tripadvisor. I will pass your comments onto the staff and the chefs in particular. I am sorry about the table situation but because we only have 4 tables directly overlooking the harbour we do not reserve clients the same table and use a first come basis in order to be fair to...
