Did not stay here but had dinner. Fantastic food. Service good but not as good as food. A little flaky during busy dinner service on a Saturday night. For example three pre dinner drinks arrived but we had to ask about the fourth after quite a wait. Most of food was exceptional although portion size a little on small size.

This is a wonderful boutique hotel located right on the water's edge in Portloe, Cornwall, England. It is run by an enthusiastic, friendly and most capable staff who know how to welcome guests after a long journey thru very narrow roads. It is nestled within the fishing village of Portloe which is about a 20 minute walk from the hotel....

I had to think hard about this review as the Lugger does have a great reputation, especially for food. On checking in - our reservation couldn't be found, neither could our dinner reservation but this was easily rectified, it was eventually and on reaching our room I realised why, my welcome letter was addressed to Rena Petrena which is the...

I could not fault this hotel in any way. We spent two nights here with 'Secret Escapes'. A very good value deal. The setting in a pretty Cornish cove, the food, and friendly welcome were just perfect. After a day out we came back to find cakes in our room and after a delicious three course meal in the restaurant...

Undoubtedly a very pretty location, exquisite food and friendly courteous service but let down by the accommodation. Our stay was a wedding gift and we chose the Lugger based on the rave reviews from other guests and its location on the Roseland peninsula. The Boathouse room we'd been allocated was tiny, rather tatty, smelled damp and looked straight into the...

Can't think of a bad thing to say about this hotel. Beautiful location, lovely rooms and incredible food. Staff are a credit to the hotel, very welcoming. We booked a standard double room for one night after deciding to add a extra night onto our Cornwall trip, room was immaculate, we had a slight issue with the sink in the...

If you're looking for friendly personal service, excellent food and stunning coastal walks, in a quirky romantic location, then look no further. We had a spacious room (303)with terrace, big comfortable bed and everything we could want. Food was very good - sirloin, bouillabaisse and scallops were memorable. Another major plus is that they are genuinely dog friendly. Very easy...

The staff were all very hospitable, helpful and friendly. The food was excellent although I agrre with previous reviewer that...

We stayed for four nights at this hotel on a "Secret Escapes" deal, which was good value. The staff were friendly and unfailingly helpful. Our room was clean and attractive and the standard of housekeeping was superb. We would have awarded five stars but were disappointed with the table d'hote menu, which never changed throughout our stay. We had expected...
