We stayed for a weekend. It was last minute so I guess we got one of the poorer rooms. There were only blinds in our room so the lights over the car park lit the room up all night. The bathroom was small so the shower got the loo seat wet and the wall paper was dirty and peeling. I...

Friendly but poor service. Bedroom (the lookout) was tiny and the bathroom and base of the divan bed was dirty (see photos). Food was decent but quite old fashioned and expensive. The main issue was that the hotel is ridiculously overpriced! The standard of service and accommodation is no better than a best western hotel but the prices are more...

Just got back from spending 5 nights at the Lugger hotel. Cannot fault the hotel at all. Staff were all very friendly and polite. We enjoyed two evening meals at the hotel and had breakfast daily there during our trip. Our room was fairly basic but comfortable and we had no complaints. Nice touches included the hot chocolates of an...

Great warm little hotel with fantastic service. The rooms are mostly separated from the restaurant /lounge/reception in another building but only 5 metres away. Ours was great with double doors onto a terrace overlooking the harbour. The restaurant is small yet really nice with great views of the sea and harbour. Very cozy lounge area great to relax. Only criticism...

We first the Luger on honeymoon 33years ago and decided to return. Whilst many things had changed the hotel has lost non of its charm. A warm welcome and an excellent meal, breakfast was faultless. All the staff are helpful and friendly. Some lovely touches like hot chocolate bought to your room at night and a bag with sweets and...

I have been to this hotel probably 4 times so was expecting the same standards. We rented the cottage opposite for 4 nights, OMG.. It was really damp in both bedrooms, i mean damp patches on the walls and on the curtains in the downstairs bedroom. There was tatty garden furniture and pots full of dead plants outside. The restaurant...

We were on our way to Mevagissey, from our campsite on the lovely Roseland Peninsular, and taking the pretty way along the coast and country roads. Stopped at Portloe for a wander, and saw this lovely hotel on the pretty cove, and just had to have a coffee on the veranda in the sunshine. The staff were very friendly, The...

If you want something different as a restaurant take the ferry from Fowey over to Portloe & back .The Lugger offers tasty food no frills but great pub atmosphere overlooking the harbour.More of a pub than a hotel

Our group of walkers was on a walk along the south west coast path in Cornwall from Falmouth to Looe. On the day we walked from Portscathoe to Portloe, the heavens opened. By the time we arrived at the Lugger we were drenched. They took our saturated shoes, bags and coats and dried them in the boiler room. We stayed...

Stopped for an unscheduled lunch. Great location, good service without being stuffy, nice food. The rooms looked comfortable but impeccably clean in a contemporary but relaxed style in keeping with the coastal location. We will be staying next time!
