I've stayed with Jacqui and Naveen 4 or 5 times now. Great for getting into central London (30 minutes on diesel train). Breakfasts are a treat. Always a friendly smile and a helpful input whether it's assistance with a blistered foot or a local restaurant recommendation.

A very pleasant stay. The cottage is full of character, nicely furnished and comfortable. We had sole use of the large bathroom upstairs. Towels and bathrobes were of a very good quality. Our hosts, Jacqueline & her husband, were very welcoming. Upon my request Jacqueline had made sure our full English breakfast was sourced from free range/organic produce. I would...

Rickmansworth is a charming town with plenty of historic buildings. This is a lively community with many special events including "Ricky Week" which includes activities for all interests and age groups. The railway station is a 15 minute walk from The Old Ale House. From there high speed diesel trains whisk you into the centre of London in about 30...

Stayed at the Old Ale House recently. It is run by a charming couple for whom nothing was too much trouble. It is a lovely 500 year old house with exposed beams. My room was nice & comfortable and the breakfast they served up was excellent. Apparently, they have a number of regulars who keep coming come back. I will...

I stayed at The Old Ale House last week. I'm working in the area for the next month and I'm completely new to the area. Very helpful friendly landlady (Jackie) - nothing is too much trouble. The house itself is 500 years old and is full of character and furnished sympathetically. Rooms are clean and cosy. The traditional tastey grilled...

....on a 128 day cycle tour of the UK. Totally charming lady runs the establishment and she kindly made me tea and toast as I arrived late, tired and soaked to the skin with no real desire to go out again that evening. The room was cosy and quaint and the whole house was spotless with antiques liberally on display...

I have recently stayed at the Old Ale House due to working in Rickmansworth. The couple who run the B&B are very sweet however, the nightmare started when I got to my room, not only was there a distinct smell of dampness, when i picked my towel up to go and freshen up a little it had obviously not been...

I have just returned home from staying in this lovely, characterful and charming B&B. I stayed with my husband and mother-in-law as we were going to a wedding very near by. We all enjoyed our stay at The Old Ale House very much indeed. The rooms and facilities were cosy and charming, the food was fantastic, even my mother-in-law who...
