Helpful and friendly staff greet you in the pub bar and show you up to your room offering to carry your bags which is a nice touch. Rooms are clean if a little basic but fine for the price. Worth it for the money and thoroughly decent stay.

Went last Friday with friends for lunch. First impressions were very good with nice décor and plenty of room around the tables. The service was good with a nice short break between courses. The food was excellent and it was clean plates all around. I would definitely recommend this venue and will certainly be going back again.

First time back after the refit, wow, what a difference. The layout of the bar area has changed and there appears to be much more room now. The bedroom was a good size and very clean and comfortable. Didn't eat here but the breakfast was more than ample and have been informed that the evening meals are really good so...

We have stayed at the Jug and Bottle a couple of times before and enjoyed the range of beer and gin, excellent food and sitting by the fire before having a good nights sleep in the comfortable bedrooms. We returned this time to find that the pub had undergone significant renovation and had only recently reopened. The renovation is impressive...

Just been I'm for a cheeky pub meal with my partner and my dog. Was jammed and no tables in the bar so after asking was about to leave when Harriet grabbed us as we were almost out the door to say she found us a table. Was very grateful as we had a lovely time. Beela served us quickly...

Well this place looks great, but is that enough? Took a bit too long to get served considering it wasn't that busy. The most striking thing though was just how lacking in atmosphere the place was. It wasn't cosy or welcoming. Just a bit, well, pretentious really. I don't think we'll be rushing back.

Very clean and shiny but the atmosphere is sadly lacking. The bar staff are polite but lacking in personality and the drinks are overpriced and under sized. Give me a warm welcoming village pub any day

A meal with friends at this newly refurbished pub was brilliant!!!! Tastefully refurbished very recently , it provides a warm rustic cozy atmosphere with tucked away tables in the bar area and a lovely restaurant. Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful and as for the food ......absolutely delicious .

We visited after christmas and had terrible service. I attempted to call, 8 times prior to our booking to amend the number of guests, however unable to get an answer. I now know why, when we arrived the phone was ringing and staff just ignored it!! Food good but atmosphere in the dining area poor, they need a bit of...

The Jug and Bottle has been refurbished to an excellent standard and is so much more spacious with a good outside area perfect for any sunny days we might have! However, thank goodness they have kept the same amazing and very attentive staff, including Andy who is a superb host making sure his diners and casual drinkers are happy to...
