Great location, Close to shops, restaurants, seas side, park and Training center for those studying at JP sailing school. Service was great, best BnB i've stayed in. Host was very warm and welcoming, sociable and helpful. Good options for breakfast every day, either cooked or fruits and cereal and yogurts. Rooms cosy, warm and very comfortable beds. Equipped with desks,...

After our usual B&B in Hoylake closed, we were directed to Firkin House and have not been disappointed. Lynsey is an amazing, energetic, and accommodating hostess who is full of advice and suggestions for your time there. We experienced a beautiful walk which we would not have enjoyed had it not been for her ( turn left at the end...

Myself and my wife were booked into Firkin House by my son and his partner as we were visiting them from Ireland. We were welcomed by Lynsey when we arrived and we immediately found her to be a very friendly host making us feel very much at home as soon as we met. Our room was situated at the front...

Booked this at very short notice but Lynsey could not have been more helpful and accommodating, right from the moment I arrived through to when I left the following morning. Accommodation was spotless throughout, beds very comfortable, and breakfast was exceptional. I would definitely stay here again if I am in the Wirral.

Suddenly an opportunity to get up to the WSYC presented itself and I was thinking that the chance of getting a room was remote, so I was pleasantly surprised to get a reply from Lynsey, confirming that she could accommodate me. Even better as I was aware of Firkin House's rating on Tripadvisor! Great room, clean crisp bed sheets, and...

My wife and I recently had the good fortune to spend 2 nights at the Firkin House. We had a wonderful stay and our host Lynsey was great. The location near Hoylake was perfect, right near the beach and the train station. A short walk into Hoylake and an enjoyable walk to West Kirby.

We stayed here for one night and wished circumstances had allowed us to stay longer. Lynsey was the perfect hostess, welcoming and informative, and prepared a freshly-cooked full breakfast the next morning. The family room (double bed plus bunk beds for our 2 daughters) was clean, comfortable and quiet. The sea view from the bedroom window was a pleasant bonus....

I booked in at Firkin house as it had been recommended to me by a friend who had stayed here whilst doing a course at the local hoylake sailing centre. From the moment I walked in and met Lynsey I felt totally at home. The room was lovely with nice little touches (chocolate mints left every day :) ) and...

This is our third stay at Firkin House with the wonderful Lynsey. Again the rooms were immaculate, and the breakfast delicious and substantial. The B&B is perfectly situated close to the beach and a short walk to the shops Lynsey is the perfect host - generous, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We couldn't recommend Firkin House more highly and...

I was especially thrilled to be staying at the Firkin House. The whole house before it was divided into suites was my Great Grandfather & Great Grandmother's house. They lived in Liverpool and would come down to the sea for Summer holidays. They had 6 children.

“Don't pick the attic room (there are two) if you are, shall we say, on the large side. You would have difficulty moving past the loo to get into the shower. Not an ideal room for pensioners due to the flights of stairs.”
