If what you're looking for is a hotel run by a host who is rabidly anti-English and which has rank smelling bedding then this is the place for you. As an added bonus you may find unidentifiable wildlife climbing the bedroom walls! The most unpleasant hotel I have ever stayed in. Nice views.

we stayed there a few years ago and it was ok and we visited recently and it is pretty well run down ,in a lovely area but cannot reccomend.the area is truly beutifull and i can understand due to the economic climate how places like this can struggle.

I first stayed here in 1986----it was a very satisfactory experience within the budget-Mid market----great locals bar and clean/functional rooms with good,if basic food. It is now an absolute shambles.I didn't stay, but re-visited for a drink----------I did not have one after seeing the dilapidated/dirty and overall depressing "tip" of a place. The saving grace is it is up for sale...

We decided to visit this hotel given that we were staying in the area and given the last reviews. Well what an awful welcome, we drove up and noticed there were 2 people in the bar. We parked outside the front entrance and had not even exited the car when a man came out from the door and said can...

Having read some reviews I was a bit apprehensive but quickly realised they were totally unfounded. Whilst not really a scenery person. The location of hotel and views were excellent. On arrival it was very late but for proprietors this was not a problem. Shown to room very swiftly. Food excellent. Whisky tour by John was very good and worth...

I stayed here with a group of friends for a night. I have to say that some of the negative reviews left by others are unjustified. The evening meal we were given (T Bone steak) was fantastic, and the included breakfast was absolutely outstanding. Yes, the hotel has areas where improvement would be beneficial, but this appears to be in...

I arrived in it terrible autumn weather to learn more about whisky and whisky making. I was the only guest in the hotel, and poor John and Frances were working very hard at renovation. I was made to feel totally welcome, and had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay with them. John is incredibly knowledgeable about whisky, and was very...

Stayed here while working and i can honestly say it is the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. Room was freezing, toilet was blocked, hotel had a terrible smell, couple who owned the hotel were very very rude. The only good thing about this stay was that the job got cancelled and i only had to stay 1 night...
