We stopped overnight on a road trip from Christchurch to Wellington because it's a perfect location midway and i wanted to see the Nelson lakes area. Although we were late ish arriving we were greeted by Leighton, the friendly and professional lodge manager who helped sort us with seats by the fire and a table for dinner and of course...

The Alpine Lodge in St Arnaud is very well run offering excellent facilities and service in an iconic NZ low alpine location with great bush walks (long or short) and access to the lake if you want to simply 'chill out'. Highly recommended!!

Thanks Leighton for your great hospitality. We loved everything about Alpine Lodge. Keep up the good work. We slept really well as it was so quiet. Lovely food and nice range of craft beers. The walk through the trees and Lake Rotoiti was a highlight.

This is a nice hotel in a good location, with very pleasant and helpful staff. The hotel has great potential with a nice restaurant area and big open log fire but unfortunately the furnishings in our two bedroom lodge room left quite a bit to be desired. The rooms were spacious but furniture was old and tired. The bathroom was...

The lodge style buildings were charming. We had a room that had the sitting area and bathroom on one level and the bedroom in the loft. It was warm, cosy and had a lovely outlook over a pond. There was a spa bath in the bathroom which I enjoyed. the only downside for me was the hardness of the bed....

Just one of the best in terms of service, atmosphere and quality. After a long few days driving, me and my wife decided to take a night in some comfort. As soon as we arrived, Leighton and his team looked after us like we were Prince William and Princess Kate, and the studio room bed and bath looked like they...

We have stayed in the lodge twice now whilst touring around the South Island. It's set in a bush with a stunning lake within easy walking distance. The rooms are comfortable & well laid out although the lighting in the bathroom could be better. The lodge facilities are very pleasant with open fire, pool table & good laundry facilities. Staff...

We spent one night here while touring South Island. The hotel restaurant and lobby area are nicely decorated and welcoming. We booked a standard room which was okay but in need of some upgrading. We walked from hotel down a scenic path to lakeside which is not far away. The hotel has a small laundry room which was convenient, provides...

This was an overnight business trip. The lodge is modern and comfortable and the dining areas have wonderful views as did my room. The area is quiet and unspoilt and I would definitely stay here again.
