Staying in this gracious household was a rare privilege. Annie and Marcel have created a delightful home with just the right touches. The room where we were located was very spacious with combined bedroom and sitting room and separate toilet and bathrooms. Lovely interior decorating touches combined to create wonderful ambience in their home. We were quite unwell during our... More

My family and I stayed here as we were attending a wedding in the area. The room we stayed in was very large, easily big enough for myself, husband and 4yr old. The bathroom had a large bath and telephone shower taps. The internet is available, we had to ask for the code. Breakfast each morning was a typical rustic... More

After a long flight, TGV to Bordeaux, car rental and short drive, Dom. de Barrouil was a welcoming place. Quiet with a large bedroom and bath, we comfortably settled in and had dinner with the congenial owners and another couple. This home was one of our favorite stays. The decor and attention to detail show the owners care deeply about... More

Jean Claude and his wife have a wonderful oasis in the Camargue. The place has a slightly Gypsy air about it and whilst it is very comfortable and well appointed the place looks as if it has seen better days. This may not suit some who want everything spic and span but if you want charm and comfort Domaine de... More

We stayed here last August for a couple of nights during a road trip round round South-West France and Northern Spain. I cannot recommend the place more highly. Set in the beautiful grounds of a local chateau, with vineyards running down from the gorgeous gardens around the back. The house is incredible, everything you could expect from an almost 300... We spent the most lovely 2 nights in this chateau. The house is absolutely beautiful, restored and decorated with great taste, with a massive garden. Our room was so comfortable, and we were provided with all we could need (a big and a small towel for each of us, soap, shampoo). The shower was bliss! The area is also very... More

We had a very good time at Domaine de Barrouil. Annie and Michel the owners of the place were very hospitable and speak very good English. A beautiful house on a hill with a great view. The evening we arrived we had a great dinner together with the other guests. Memorable place!

My husband and I stayed at the Domaine de Barrouil in May. The experience was magnificent. The home is even more beautiful than the pictures. We visited in May and were blessed with a breakfast crepe from Madame that included a wild flower that was in bloom during our stay, it was very delicious. Breakfasts were served outdoors on a... The Domaine de Barrouil was the highlight of our visit to the Bordeaux region in July, 2008. Annie and Michel were welcoming and gracious, and we could have stayed forever! The restored vineyard manor is beautifuly and creatively decorated with loving attention to every detail. Each morning we breakfasted on the terrace, overlooking the orchard, savoring Annie's homemade yogurt and... More
