My fiancé and I just returned from an 11 day amazing stay at Chester’s Highway Inn Bonefish Lodge in Acklins Island, The Bahamas. As a man whose fishing for bonefish has taken me to many places throughout the world, I must say the extremely remote Acklins Island offered awesome, virgin flats and a pristine environment like none I had ever... My wife and I stayed for a week with our college-aged son and had a wonderful time. We were the only ones there, and Julius and Arnette were gracious hosts. My son and I would go fishing everyday. It was easy to just walk across the road and catch bonefish. The fishing was great - caught many bonefish, barracuda and... More

Went solo for a week to target bonefish on my own. Julius and Arnette treated me as family. The Lodge had zero damage from hurricane Joaquin (one month before my trip). The island is slowly getting back on its feet... But the Chisholms are well... And it's "business as usual". I made a video on YouTube... "Bonefishing North Acklins, Bahamas... More

Julius and Arnette are wonderful people who provide amazing hospitality. The lodge is quaint and very clean. The food is always fantastic! We fished for 3 days with our guide Jacob. He always knew where the fish should be. We waded when the tide was low and conditions were right. It's always special to stalk bonefish and land them while... More

Perfect after-tax season break. Having an airplane makes the trip easy. Flew from Miami to Acklins via Long Island (clearing at Stella Maris). Julius met us at the airport and I got to fly back and pick up Arnette, our hostess, back at Long Island. Get her to tell you the story - it was a lot of fun! Julius... More

My wife and I stayed at Chester's Highway Bonefish Inn in early April of this year for a week. We have been doing DIY bonefishing in the Bahamas for about 5 years now. We have never used a guide. Chester's was a perfect place for us! We had plenty of access to flats for a week, all under our own... More

My husband and I spent 3 short days at Chester's Highway Inn. I wish we could have stayed longer. Arnette and Julius ferried us to and from the airport, provided wonderful home cooked Bahamian meals and catered to our every want and need. They provided us with bikes which allowed us to get off of the roads and explore the... More

Arnette and Papa Chiz were very gracious hosts; very sweet, warm people who are genuinely interested in making sure you're comfortable and successful! JJ is an A-one guide with an uncanny ability to spot fish for you! Four of us spent 7 days at Chester's and fishing the flats for bonefish. The lodging was very clean and comfortable and we... More

Very clean modern accommodation with a/c, excellent showers/loos. Arnette looked after this pair of fisherman just like our mums would! Good food but limited menu probably due to remoteness of Acklins and weekly supply boat. Bikes and kayaks set us free to fish where and when we wished, either on the doorstep or further afield. Only downside, you couldn't sit... More

We stayed at Chester's in December, 2012. The owners, Arnette and Julius, are very nice, warm people, and made our stay very enjoyable. The food was home cooked and excellent, and the lodge was very clean (they also provided bottled drinking water). We used the kayaks and bikes and they were in great condtion and made exploring the beautful surroundings... More
