Cannot understand how this lodge could have been given 4 stars when there are no blinds or thick curtains in the rooms and no fan/air con. The room we were given was already warming up at 10am...When we asked about the fan we were addressed as "those people that like to sleep with a closed window". Strange remark considering the... Really comfortable place to stay, even in a flood everyone was happy, food really good, lovely atmosphere, lots of stairs that is only problem, brilliant views, dining room lovely setup and relaxed atmosphere with monkeys watching breakfast - everyone loved the uninvited guests to breakfast!

Wilkommen and Gemuchlicheit are not in Gerhardt's vocabulary. Rude, Insulting and Crass certainly are. The Owner should not be in the Hospitality Industry. There are many Rules and Dictates Imposed. Cintsa itself is Full of Happy, Hospitable and Friendly Establishments. I have stayed at Prana Lodge (Luxury) as well as Buccanneers (Backpackers). Both were exemplary within their genre. Cintsa Lodge... More

We arrived late afternoon and were met by Gerhard where the welcome was very unhospitable and with a somewhat of a “Its after-hours attitude” Then he was quite rude explaining the two rooms we had booked where unavailable and we would be pretty much be downgraded. In the end the rooms where lovely, breakfast with Heidi (Gerhard’s Wife) amazing she... More

We stayed in this guesthouse for 2 nights and really loved the room and excellent breakfast. Most of the customer facing work is done by Heidi - the wife of Gerhard - who could not have done more to make our stay more enjoyable and accommodate our other needs. Sadly as was noted in another review below, (and I fully... More

We spent four nights in a really nice and calm room with a big and modern bathroom. A really relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere. Heidi and Gerd have made possible a spontan and friendly overnight stay for us. Every morning we were looking forward to the varied breakfast buffet. Our special requests were accepted friendly. We loved also the view and... More

Add to that the breakfast buffet (fruit salad is a must .. ) and the spectacular views from all corners of their carefully manicured property, and this is a winner. The pool is sufficiently large and raised a bit in the middle of the garden so that the views are not lost while lounging with a book. Head into Cintsa... More

Cintsa Lodge was designed and built as a B&B by a charming German couple who found their little piece of heaven on the Eastern Cape coast. Gerhard was an interior designer which makes the lodge one of the best designed houses with modern decor and every comfort, set in expansive gardens with views of the sea. A lovely pool adds... We were very well received in this extremely well-appointed guest house, and greatly enjoyed our stay there. It is in an ideal situation with superb views, and the rooms are very comfortable. The whole place is very well organised, and the breakfasts are excellent. We were given good advice and directions to restaurants for evening meals, which certainly lived up... More

We chose this place from the Portfolio Bed and Breakfast Collection. It is really a Bed and Breakfast place in a gorgeous spot rather than one some might expect from a "Lodge". The rooms are fantastic - we were offered a choice so we saw other rooms and the views are lovely with huge picture windows. There is a great... More
