As soon as I walked into the room, I was charmed; small and cozy, pink, old and new mixed in a hilarious way. Very clean with a comfortable bed. The night was quiet, cool and dark. The room is not made to spend time in, it is made to sleep, shower, have breakfast and then go out for the day. The view from the balcony is very nice, but you cannot see the bay and certainly not the fjord. It is well situated, between the modern center and the old tourist and bay center. A car is needed to go anywhere. The breakfast was generous but the coffee is less than expected in todays coffee world. I would happily stay there again.
Well let me start off by saying that the place is quite quiet, peaceful but for the odd Harley that pass by during the night. We went there for the scenery and to hike. The room we had was, in my opinion very small, you walk in there is a chair and table for two at the entrance of the room, a fan(no air conditioning), a double bed & last but not least a sink in the room too. The bathroom is petite, with a toilet and shower. Seeing we went during COVID 19, breakfast was brought to our room you had a variety to choose from the breakfast menu. It was nice but too small for my taste and the bed too hard. Enjoy and have fun
I'll be honest and say that I did not realize that there wasn't air-conditioning in the place when I booked here. The inn itself does not disappoint in most categories: check-in was great, rooms are clean and bright, bathroom is impeccable, morning breakfast was fine and the innkeepers themselves seem lovely. However, the temperatures in early July during the day were in the mid to high 30s C, so if your room was at the top floor of the inn (as ours was,) the heat and humidity are enough to feel extremely uncomfortable. This did not cool down much during the night, and so even though the outside temperatures were in the low 20s in the night, the rooms themselves were still uncomfortable. This was despite a plethora of fans. It was the first time in a long, long while, that I decided to actually sleep on the cooler floor, rather than the beds. Needless to say, I did not get much sleep that night. Parking is a bit difficult if you have a bigger car and the lots are full, but you should be able to manage. The inn is about a mile from the actual piers into the fjord.…
Trip Advisor put you on to Booking.com who say only one room left. (Not true) They give you the cheapest most uncomfortable room. Both well into our 70 s. Room 25 is for midgets. Small bed wedged into alcove, hardly enough room for one let alone a large 6ft 2 ins & 5ft 7 wife. Have to climb over one another in the middle of the night to use tiny tiny bathroom. A power cut (not their fault) but only given tea light candles!!! The inside staircase very steep, the outside one uneven, railing loose, both safety hazards, wooden floors slope. Appreciate this is an old building but more suitable for young, athletic back packers. Description of the room on booking.com is certainly not the room given.
Perfect interior, equipment and especially amazing breakfast! I’m recommending testing their home made yogurts, confitures and cakes. Mr. Mario doing very well to keep his hotel in the good shape. I would stay there again if could pass this region someday.
First experience in an auberge, very pleasantly surprised, overall very pleased with the experience: old but nice rooms decorated with taste, very very friendly staff, reasonable price. Unfortunately we didn't get to take the breakfast, but from what we've seen, it's very good. Would definitely visit again
It is very good in general. They have really good services and the ambiance is good and they have beautiful rooms. The breakfast is wonderful. I would suggest just to have something against the mosquitos (as the area is close to a river and vegetation) in the rooms as well as one blanket available in the room in case you're cold during the night. However, I would repeat my experience there.
We spent two nights at the inn and enjoyed our stay very much. The proprietors put a great deal of effort into ensuring that their guests have a pleasant stay. Our room had everything we needed and was well maintained. This was designated as a "superior' room, with a private balcony in the front. The additional cost was worth it, and the overall pricing was very reasonable. We found the location very good for visiting Saguenay National Park. The park visitor center and many beautiful hikes are not far away. There are several restaurants nearby offering meals at a range of price levels.
This is a good hotel that's located very close to all the major attractions. My room was clean and perfect for a week-long stay (it had a fridge, microwave, good bathroom). It is in the French cottage style which may not be to everyone's tastes but I found it cute and cozy. The building is old but not run down. Breakfast is good and the staff was incredibly helpful. They answered any questions I had and did my laundry at a very good price. The only problem I experienced were thin walls that meant conversations carried but this never became more than a nuisance. Overall, a great bang for your buck.
stayed for 2 nights with my parents & husband. Loved everything about this cozy, vintage styled inn- from the breakfast to the open garden spaces laden with apple trees. Would surely stay here if we ever travel back to this place.
