The main highlight is the location, overlooking the water. We chose the room with the balcony with chairs and table, to sit and enjoy the view, with a beverage. Meals can be had in the dining room or on the verandah. Everything we needed during our two night stay was within walking distance, including the kayak excursion.
The owners, Denis and Rita, offer a warm welcome to their beautiful auberge. The rooms are comfortable with small details that add to the stay (e.g., luxurious white plush robes that I could just not bring myself to use, but I enjoyed looking at them!). The breakfasts were delicious and it was such a joy to sit facing the fjord and watching the hummingbirds at the flower baskets. I had planned to stay 2 nights, before and after a kayak expedition, but unforeseen events led me to stay a 3rd night. I was thankful to have that extra day in Anse St Jean and an extra night at the auberge. Thank you Denis and Rita.
My sister and I stayed at Auberge la Fjordlaise for one night before departing on a 6 day paddling trip. We loved it! The inn was very charming and had such a lovely feel about it. There was a cute little porch with flower pots and a beautiful view of the water where you could choose to eat your meals. We were not expecting anything special with the food, but we were pleasantly surprised! It was fantastic! We both would definitely book to stay again if we came back to do any more paddling trips. We were sorry there wasn't a room available for us to rent at the conclusion of our paddling trip. Friendly service, charm, great food and wonderful views. We hope to come back!
We loved staying at this little gite when we went on our sea kayaking adventure. The cute little room was a perfect spot to come back to after out adventures on the fjord and the four course meal at the end of the day was absolutely scrumptious, healthy and very well done. We will definitely stay any time we are in the Saguenay.
Great establishment. Clean and good value. You will enjoy memorable views of the fjord and be charmed by the quiet village. They have bicycles you can use. You can eat outside on the terrace. I certainly recommend. They have a fridge to accommodate you. You can rent sea kayaks a few steps away.
My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights and we didn’t want to leave! We chose to stay in L’Anse-Saint-Jean instead of touristy Tadoussac and it was so much better being up in the mountains in a quiet and serene town. Our room was clean, tastefully decorated, and the breakfast add on was incredibly delicious and so inexpensive. The owners were friendly and helpful, we would definitely recommend! The only minor thing I would say is we stayed in the main house and could sometimes hear people going up and down the stairs in the morning but nothing it was nothing too crazy.
Unfortunately we didn't stay at the hotel, but we stopped by its restaurant for some coffee and desert after a dinner at a local bistro and we were greeted with joy and made feel right at home. The maple syrup pie (la tarte au sucre) was divine and so was their coffee. The atmosphere is amazing, very home-like and the restaurant faces the beautiful fjord. Would love to get there again for a full meal and perhaps a stay!
This is a delightful inn run by a dedicated couple who clearly go out of their way to accommodate their guests and make them feel welcome. It is a good location to see the rugged area. Supper is excellent. The rooms are small and somewhat quirky ( the bathtub was in the the middle of the room). We were there during a very hot time and their central air conditioning was not adequate and for some reason they turn it off at night but nonetheless we definitely enjoyed our stay. Try the kayaking on the fjord!
Stayed three nights- dinned twice. These diners were AMAZING. We would return for the fine dining alone. Our room overlooked the fjord, was very comfortable and we managed the strangeness of a bath in the bedroom. Beds are very much a personal choice but perhaps the offering of a memory foam mattress topper for those with disabilities might be an added extra worth a 100$ outlay. Thank you Denis and Rita and your amazing staff
Nice room with a lot of features. Very nice location, some of the rooms have a view on the Saguenay. Excellent breakfast and very good wifi. The room was a bit small for two persons. It's possible to eat but the menu are a bit expensive.
