I stayed with Gilles for one night and he was an amazing host. He is extremely kind and has many stories to share. This B&B is ideally located with breath-taking views of the fjord. Many activities and restaurants are accessible by foot. Gilles used to be a chef, and the quality of the breakfast was phenomenal. Most of the food (like the jams and fruit salads) were homemade. The only negative aspect was that it was extremely hot in the room with only a small ceiling fan to try to keep it cooler. Keep in mind it was 37C that day, which is a little warmer than what you would normally find. This is the only reason I did not sleep well.

My wife and I spent a few days on a motorcycle ride in the Saguenay area and booked this pretty well last minute. Gilles turns out to be a great music lover as well as a locally known chef. As we both like music and food (who doesn't?) we had a great time chatting with him and his other guests. The place is very clean, the breakfast was great. The house is at the end of a the main road and is very peaceful. Access to a walking path into the Saguenay park with breathtaking views of the fjord is just a few meters away. Kayak excursions are just across the street. This village, as small as it may be, has a surprising number of restaurants in a wide price range. The only slight downside is that the house is very old and because of it's construction, noise travels a little between rooms. The upside is that being old, the house offers a lot of charm! Would I go back? Looking forward to it! Thanks Gilles!…

Tucked right at the end of the village near to the best places for kayaking and boat cruises, this quaint and charming house hosts about 8 persons. Space is a bit right, and the bathroom and shower is shared, but this takes nothing away from the pleasant experience of staying here, in a beautiful and tranquil part of the Saguenay fjord. The host is really helpful and accommodating, and cooks a mean breakfast that will leave you wanting to stay more and enjoy this village further. Top marks and top service despite being a little more rustic than some other places. Bags of charm here, and highly recommended for a peaceful stay.

Le Nid guesthouse is tucked into a beautiful corner of an incredibly scenic village on the banks of the Saguenay Fjord. The village of L’Anse St. Jean is spread out with no central point, but things come together nicely where Le Nid is located. With a unique position at the end of the road, adjacent to the national park hiking trail and across the street from cruising, kayaking and bike rentals, it is ideally situated. While the guesthouse is very small, simple and cozy, it is very relaxing and quiet. A true getaway reminiscent of a seaside cottage in Cape Cod. The host, Gille's hospitality is warm, welcoming and he knows the area very well for recommendations on activities and dining. While the guesthouse may be simple, Gilles brings it to life with his charm.
